Goodmorning SNE!!!

WHat a beauty of a forecast over the next 7 days, from the wonderful peeps at OKX

39 47 47 44 40 42 45 nothing but :sun: :sun: :sun: :sun: :sun: :sun: :sun:

Looks like that GFS call from a few days ago was correct afterall, nothing but sun and fun till late late next week, should be an incredible stretch of weather, and allow me to get into the shed and start sharpening and tuning equipment for the spring.

29

overcast, may the torch be with you.

Yep, even "Ryan's Boss," as CT Blizz often puts it, was talking about 50 degrees by the weekend on this morning's newscast. This cold snap knocked BDL down to a monthly departure of +3.1, and given BOX's forecast through the 11th implies a monthly departure of +6.1 by then.

Yep, the beat goes on, but now its back to positive departures, now we wait and see if this "pattern change" can show up on ens and op modeling inside ten days. Looks gradient which is no garuntee for snow or below normal temps especially for us, but at least the weather will be absolutely beautiful while we wait and see if we can salvage the 2nd half of winter, I will give it to the 20th before thoughts of bikinis and bonfires enter my head.

Heading back to the beach for a week during april break, spring cleanups start march 1 as long as there is no snow on the ground, this winter is flying by. Soon we will once again feel the sun, always seemed like the last week in Jan is when you could notice it higher in the sky and feel it in the car.

The season waits for no weenie.

Noone in SNE is going to be anywhere +6 or +7 lol. It's a 2-3 mild spell..with highs in the 40's

Keep dreaming.........even after the "bitter onslaught" monthly departures are around +3++, unless you forgot what climo is in the heart of winter highs in the 40s and warm overnight lows will create MONSTER + dailies.

Tolland or the tropics of sw ct................its all the same, brown and torchtastic. But, major pattern change by the 20th so hopefully the snow wont be too far away, and enjoy the snow that falls today!!!

Here are the numbers through yesterday.

orh+2.5

pvd+1.4

bdl+3.1

bos+2.8

look at the next 7 days...........look at climo and then do the math, its pretty simple.

Those that want to think they live at the edge of the Arctic Circle always will - no point in arguing with them. BDL normals slip to 34/17 this week as winter effectively bottoms out. BDL will be nowhere near those numbers for at least seven days, perhaps longer. Even a coolish 40/25 day is good for a +7 now, never mind something like the 48/32 (+15) BOX has for Saturday. Betting against above normal temperatures at this point is like betting against the sun rising. March can be wintry, but the numbers say that there's a better chance that it's not. Even at BDL there's a better chance of a 70-degree day than a snowstorm that delivers 6+ inches in March.

Just checked... 1.2" so far down here at 800ft in the village. My colleague is reporting 2" so far up at the base of the ski resort.

Nickel and dime continues.

Tim Kelley just sent me a picture of him and Weir Lundstedt in the gondola pouring over the radar at the squalls moving across Lake Champlain right on track for this area. BTV calling for a quick dusting-3" with the squalls with heavy snowfall rates. Time to go join the weenie party up at the mountain in the snowfall.

We've been having awesome snow growth and decent snowfall at 20dbz... band of 30-40dbz on composite heading into BTV now then us in less than an hour. Gotta get to the mountain before that hits, haha.

I haven't been following so this is shocking to me to be blunt. I guess it goes to show how climo has lowered the daily temps to the point where even plus 3-4 seems cold.

Simply staggering how long this torch has gone on.
