Mr Torchey
Just to show what an incredible torch its been, everyone agreed it felt cold yesterday, a big deal made about the arctic shot. bos-5 bdl-5 ovd-7 orh-6 positive departures have run double digits like it was the norm, will be interesting if we truly get some serious arctic air. Absolutely nothing like that on the horizon though, impressive + departures coming up and week one will be well above normal.

weathafella
Joe, to be fair those departures occurred due to midnight temps. Eg: BOS had a high of 34 at midnight but it was never higher than the 20s during the daylight hours. Today will run about -13 or so but we're likely AOA normal most days until MLK weekend when I declare winter beginning.
weathafella
Low overnight of 7 imby. I believe BOS at waters edge got to 11.

I understand that Jerry lol, point is its certainly not unusual in any way, and very very short lived, compared to the + departures we have been experiencing its a drop in the bucket, with more big time ++++ coming starting friday. It was certainly cold for 36 hours, but by tonight we are back to normal and above starting tomorrow, temps whould actually be steady or rise through the 20s as waa moves in. Pretty much as expected yesterday: -5 or -6 for Tuesday, -11 to -13 for today, and +1 to +3 tomorrow, bringing the three day cold snap average to -4 to -6. The highs were set right at midnight, but there's no reason they shouldn't count like when the lows are set at midnight on a warm day or when a really cold night ends up counting for two days' lows. Of course not, but everything is so incredibly biased. Going to be ugly come early next week, huge + numbers.

I guess it is a little different up here. Sunday was warm and nice, Monday was chilly, Tuesday was very cold as will today be. Thursday and Friday will be seasonably cold. Saturday warms up by then Sunday and Monday are seasonably cold. Certainly not an above normal week up here. By seasonably cold I mean highs around 30 and lows in the teens. Must be a huge difference, Monday was +12 at orh, yesterday was a -6 at ORH, through the first 3 days they are +7, should be +3ish after today, then off to the races starting tomorrow. Where is Webster anyways, if you were chilly on Monday and orh was +12 thats a massive difference.

Yesterday was a -3 day there. Much warmer relatively speaking than places like LGA, NYC, BDR, and BDL.

CoastalWx
Wow, only 3* behind me...not bad at all eh? All of ern areas played catch up. With a wind from 330-340 we drain that cold right from NNE with no downslope. Jerry was 2 degrees colder than me and he is 5 miles from me. Away from the city.
