MOS usually busts in NW flow cold outbreaks...esp with some snow pack laid down in the source regions and its path.

We're gonna have to watch out for some light icing on Tuesday morning possibly.

Awesome; more 33* and rain, after the frigid dry heaves....thank god for the pattern change.

Nice, invigorating halftime walk with the dogs, love the clean crisp cold air. Winds still cranking.

I agree with you Ginx, looks like a few more chances here over the next week. The Monday night/Tues system looks to be mostly frozen and the big torch this week is more like several hours in the mid 30's. Another shot at some light snow Thursday night and then perhaps something more interesting next weekend. Love mid Winter.

But the sun feels stronger.

They are all crawled up in feety pajamas with snuggies shivering in front of the wood stove drinking hot tea complaining hot bitter it is. When the better half asks them to run an errand they refuse because it's too bitter.

Down to 6F here.

Was in Boston visiting family and it was sure nice to get back to snow cover tonight.

The snow increases noticeably once west of the river. Bushes etc stilll covered. Friday's surprise fropa snows did the trick here.

There should have been plenty of snow pack around Rt 2 in N ORH county...we still have like 2-3" of concrete here and I'm well south of Rt 2.

1.2F now. High was 7.2F low was -3.3F. Solid snowcover up here. Our coldest day in the past 10 years had a high ofaround 0F. Our record low is -19F. 7.2F was pretty impressive with 100% sunshine. I like cold but hate the bitter cold like today.

What was your high in Jan 2004 outbreak? ORH had a high of 2F and 3F on back to back days. I would think maybe you had a high below zero up there during that.

He probably took the Pike

From his location, I would have thought rt 2...but yeah, if he took the pike, then there is probably not much snow cover down there...though there should be some in Auburn and Charlton.

That equates to "plenty of snowpack" in the relative scheme of things.

You know its bad when powderfreak's bedroom community in N VT only has 10" of snow pack this late.
