Mikehobbyst
Looks like Tuesday has the chance to supply the 20-30 minute +SN squall that could drop 1-1.5 inches on all surfaces for most of the area and coastline. Light flurries on and off most of the day with intense Cold air advection and 850's dropping to -18C and 925's dropping to -20 to -22C. Tuesday will start near 30 and fall to near 15 by evening all over. This could be the event where LES from the Great Lakes survives to the NYC area and whites the ground. Of course we go back to 50 Friday and Saturday, and then it looks like the wonderful 93-94 overunning favorable side of the gradient pattern starts 3-4 days after. Something to look out for. StatenWx
So there's a possibility of snow showers reaching the coast from the great lakes... Yay

NYCSuburbs
The potential for scattered snow showers around Monday night-Tuesday morning actually isn't that bad. Not that snow is certainly expected, but at this point, having a potential for snow is at least better than the nothing we've seen so far. I expect to see some snow showers make it over the mountains and reach the area, especially towards northern NJ and SE NY, although I wouldn't expect much more than a coating, if even that for most places. At least temperatures will be much colder by Tuesday, so if there is a decent snow squall, perhaps it could stick on the ground more easily.
