Hope it works out for you man. If I were you I'd take a trip up to the tug. Your only 75 miles away!!!
StatenWx
Ha thats a bit personal man. Don't go blowing your savings on a trip here. Buy a car down the road and then drive up here yourself. Don't take the 90 though. Take 86 through the southerntier. Much more senic. When I get my license in June I'm planning a trip for November where should I go to see the best snows, and I'll make sure to visit all of you guys and I'm not a pedobear. Logan11
My 1998 Camry gets around 30 ..and 162 k miles on it. truck. lol. Most cars now a days average about 25. of course trucks average far less but even the bigger suv's now average close to 30 highway. But we all need to get back OT here lol. You should come in Dec or Jan. Don't get me wrong we can get some killer LES events here in Nov but the biggest, most intense, longest lasting events that i would place my money on fall in Dec and Jan. Plan it for Redfield or Barnes Corners on the Tug or to Ellicottville, Sherman, or Mayville in WNY. Perrysburg and South Dayton are awesome LES magnets out in WNY as well but there's hardly anything there besidse a few dozen houses and a cheap convenient store. Logan11
If you do that well it's because you are just far enough west to benefit from the NW flow multi band stuff that eventually sets up. Further east you can see the flow is insufficient for the rest of the Mohawk Valley corridor. We'll get a sweep through of the old Tug Hill/Adks band as it heads south, and maybe a quick inch here, but that's about the extent of it. CNYWxGuy
Lol the radar out of Binghamton shows what looks to be a squall line made of snow Yeah it's headed this way and I'm at 34 so probably fall as snow if it doesn't fall apart en route... Yeah, it came thru Broome County about an hour ago. It was a graupel whiteout. Dropped a quick 1/4 to 1/2" but seems to have mostly melted off already, at least on the pavement. rochesterdave
the upper low seems to have dominated the wind direction. it seems the flow is never gonna go 235 enough to affect buffalo. i live in rochester so i'm interested to see how this secondary Ohio valley low influences our wx. could we have nw wind as early as monday am? i need 290 for good LES in northern monroe county. Isolated Frost
I'd just like to say I am commenting from Durham in the United Kingdom and cannot believe how interesting your climate is! We have been getting temperatures in the mid-50's for the last week also but today it's now 34F and cooled down to the average. I'm also amazed at how much snow you guys get, and expect. We have got just 1" so far this season after getting 16" lying last winter and 13" lying in 09/10. However you do have a still unfrozen lake erie (to my knowledge) and very cold air, approaching -25c 850's at times. At 7am EST, 850mb temps are projected to be around -8c to -10c for much of upstate ny and pennsylvania. The 850mb wind dir steering them showers/squalls should be NW/WNW at the time. By 4pm EST we have -14c to -16c 850's over the lakes, with -10c 850's widespread over upstate ny and pennsylvania. The coldest 850mb temps are set to be tomorrow evening for you guys, between 1-4pm EST the euro model projects -22c uppers across upstate ny with pockets of -24c uppers. ayuud
I feel somewhat decent for Wednesday for BUF metro. looks like the northtowns will get into action tonight."UPSTREAM CONNECTION WITH GEORGIAN BAY WILL LIKELY PLAY A ROLE ACROSS NORTHWEST PORTIONS OF THE AREA WHERE THE POTENTIAL EXISTS FOR SEVERAL INCHES OF ACCUMULATION ACROSS NIAGARA...ORLEANS... NORTHERN ERIE AND GENESEE COUNTIES. PLACEMENT OF HIGHEST AMOUNTS IN THESE AREAS ALWAYS DIFFICULT IN THESE TYPE OF SITUATIONS SO WILL HOLD OFF ON HEADLINES AT THIS POINT...BUT CAN SEE THE POTENTIAL FOR HEADLINES IN THESE AREAS AT A LATER POINT. WE HAVE MORE CONFIDENCE IN HEAVY LAKES SNOWS IN THE CORRIDOR FROM ROCHESTER INTO THE FINGER LAKES...THEREFORE WILL UPGRADE CURRENT WATCH TO A WARNING FOR TONIGHT THOUGH TUESDAY."
