IWXwx
No need to drive north, getting a burst of +SN now. I've had an inch in the past hour. Like bo, waiting to see how the dominate band sets up. Looks like I'll be getting busy with EMA soon, lots of fender benders and slide offs.
AppsRunner
Woke up to a nice surprise with 2" on the ground and still some light/moderate Snow here. Indystorm
5 inches of snow seems to be pretty common in the Elkhart/Mishawaka area from reports so far this morning. Not really a classic, dominant band as of yet. More like multiple heavy snow showers lasting for a time. We shall see how things develop today. AppsRunner
Heaviest snow of the day so far... probably about 1/3 mile visibility right now.
Indystorm
I see on NWS chat that a storm spotter reported 4" 3 mile NE of Dunlap in Elkhart Co. Was that you Indystorm? I did not make that report, but it seems representative. Saw that the Elkhart airport on the NW side of the city reported 6 inches earlier today. Indystorm
There's a nice band currently at 2:30 p.m. ET from north of Muskegon all the way se to the Defiance Ohio area which I presume will slowly drift southwestward over time. Light to moderate steady snow has continued here at my location in Dunlap with NWS reporting that currently 6-8 inches of snow has fallen from South Bend eastward to LaGrange in various locations. More to come.
weatherbo
about 4" so far down this way with an inch of that coming in the past hour and fifteen min I think. I'm under the second well defined band that extends from South Bend southeastward to here. Through the years, I've noticed during this setup, these 2 bands are usually in the same places..... interesting.
