Tropopause_Fold
How much of a factor are SSTs with water temps in the upper 40s to even 50s on the south shore versus the normal 33-35? it probably aids a bit but to really overcome the inversion and have actual mixing, the water would have to be really really warm...like closer to 60F. i suppose if the low level warmth is being under-represented it would be more important with the slightly warmer SSTs. minimally it doesn't provide a horrendously stable situation. Thanks, one good item is the strong CAA on the backside, should help mix out the ocean a little. Those temps are killing us at BL with any puff off onshore scorching the BL

powderfreak
Great meeting you too! Followed your advice and skied over on spruce and it was phenomenal. I'm at Topnotch on the Mountain Road and it is dumping here. 1/4-1/2" down... sticking sideways to everything. Each flake that falls is one less drop of QPF that can fall as rain, lol. I think we'll definitely have some snow left after this in town. Complete washout cancel.

Great news Freak, hope it holds on for a while! Absolutely pouring rain at okemo, not sure about Killington, you should be ok up that way, this thing is hauling so even when it rains it will be in and out and the upslope will be impressive
Organizing Low
Congrats you totally deserve it! haha yeah but if i was in MTL, i'd be walking under an umbrella, rain there while PF rips snow. but yeah i'm enjoying my week at my folks place, and snow on the ground here (they didnt have any until 2 days before xmas) bodes well in the longrun for the northeast IMO, for getting cold to press southward.
