MJO812
It's not a terrible pattern on the GFS. No SE ridge to contend with, just looks seaonsably cold and relatively zonal flow once the trough moves out. It's terrible in the long range but who cares about the long range. Brian5671
It's terrible in the long range but who cares about the long range. how is it any better in the short range--wet followed by a cold dry weekend and then milder first part of next week.... IsentropicLift
It's terrible in the long range but who cares about the long range. It's not that bad, maybe for snow since the storm track ends up to our North and West, but would you prefer a giant ridge along the coast with 50's and 60's and repeated rain chances? MJO812
The big storm for the weekend isn't on the GFS yet again. It drops down a clipper which affects the mid atlantic.

psv88
I will most likely move when I get a better job. I hope you mean if you get a better job in Buffalo. Wouldnt make much sense to get a better job in Bk and then move to Buffalo...
mattinpa
The big storm for the weekend isn't on the GFS yet again. It drops down a clipper which affects the mid atlantic. It came north with the next one, but now looks more like a front? More big run-to-run differences.

jiksports
DT I'll take the cold, but what I really want is some snow. What a winter, 2.9 inches in October, then 0 in November, 0 in December, and possibly close to 0 in January!

MJO812
I was just looking up snowfall averages for some places. Buffalo has only seen 5.5 inches of snow so far this season. They should be near 40 inches by now. Boston has seen only 1 inch of snow. They should be around 14 inches.

I'd much rather have warm weather if it's guaranteed either way we're not getting snow. I at least want to be able to go outside. Frigid and bone dry weather is just awful. Almost like 33F and rain. The only times I want very cold air is if it's after a big snow or if it's locked in to ensure heavy snow.

ag3
Both the GFS and Euro have a clipper affecting the mid-Atlantic on day 5. You would think that would trend north, as we approach, as EVERY single event has so far this winter. Let's hope.
