TheTrials
18z GFS long range shows the SE ridge nice and strong 384 hours, ridging building over greenland, trough over the east, no SE ridge. You're a troll, a liar, and not wanted in this forum. GO AWAY!
NorEaster27
I told you last week, negative is one thing lies are another. Knock it off. Show me. I want to see exactly where you see any sign of a SE ridge. Back up your point. You know I'm not joking, either. Really? After the storm at the end of next week, the cold is in and out in 1-3 days...and by cold its only back to normal or even slightly above normal temperatures. Its then replaced by solidly above normal temperatures as we make another run into the 50s:

Mr Torchey
Wow feeding frenzy in a banter thread where soooo much crap is posted everyday lol, se ridge was mentioned in the sne thread as well. We need snow.
Mr Torchey
Speaking of the se ridge, its a huge part of any gradient pattern, I doubt any of us want a cold dry suppressed look to the ens or operational runs. I hope we can be on the cold side of any thermal gradient which occurs from 1/20 on.
nzucker
The frame that you had posted does not show the SE Ridge either... neither does it show at 850 mb... no sign of a SE Ridge on that frame actually. This map definitely shows the beginnings of a stout SE ridge...notice how the 0C 850mb line is already up near NYC metro in the middle of January? The high pressure is moving off the coast which is allowing for a warm return flow to commence, not a true Bermuda High but definitely a milder look. I agree that Noreaster can be a troll but the GFS has looked a bit ugly in the longer range as it tries to retrograde the AK block into Russia allowing for a milder pattern across the CONUS. West Milford Highlander
Hahahaha - really dude? I need to move to a climate where 40" of snow is guaranteed in a bad winter. This is ridiculous. I bought new boots and scarves this year and I can't even wear them.

ag3
Or these? The storm is earlier then this and he's right. A bunch of members have the coastal at 18z, but they are warm for the coast. Storm is in the 150 hour range. Not 180.

NYCSuburbs
0z GFS setting up for a different scenario with the Fri-Sat potential on its previous runs. Most likely rain or a bit of snow at best for us on this run, but should be interesting to see where it goes from here with future runs.
