MJO812
I think this is a bad thing. Henry NAO going negative. Here we go folks...! Looks like we have to start watching around the 13th of the month for the first significant snowstorm in the East.

psv88
Just saw my first flurries since late october here in Manhasset, Long Island. It was brief but beautiful. Too bad I flew out this morning. Doh. I'm in flight somewhere over western Kansas or south dakota. No snow out here either and a crap ton of turbulence. Salt lake city soon where I'll check out the snow in the wasatch range and hope to see some powder before next flight out to honalulu. Cannot believe I have seen zero snow and I've flown across 1/2 country in January...

ag3
GFS develops the wave on this run. This is not the same wave that the euro/ggem/nogaps are developing. They develop the next shortwave for the day 6 timeframe.

The GFS is the only one that develops the 1st wave.

NorEaster27
We are loosing the only thing that brought the recent cold shots into our area, the +PNA. Once we loose that, its hello SE ridge and temps into the 50s.

Once we loose that, its hello SE ridge and temps into the 50s. Thats because the GFS cuts off the 500 low near Texas and it pumps up the se ridge and kills all hope of cold and snow. GFS is the only model that has this, as of now.

Jefflaw77
Wow, the snow I saw this AM may be the only snow I see this month, or for this matter, this winter.. 10" or below winter coming- unless a coup occurs in February and we're it with a 93/94 pattern or a surprise 2006 type of event.. Otherwise, this winter is toast!! Bring on Spring!
