Impressive! Those are the type of flakes than can provide decent ratios even when the temp is close to freezing.

yeah that would explain what i am seeing, i dont think its snowing THAT hard, but whatever is coming down is huge, and its piling up quickly despite the temp just above 32.

also, the snow is piling up in mini-bumps, the flakes are so big.

i think we must be awfully close to being rain if the rate slacked off at all.

It wasn't too bad here. The grass is completely covered now. The last burst of snow late this afternoon did the job. I'd say there's close to 2 inches out there except for areas under trees. It looks like Winter again.

Yes that is the key: It looks like Winter again. Sure it's not enough to do most winter sports but it's a start I hope.

What is this, storm # 5? Great storms, perfect, that usually drop a good amnts of snow around S/E Mi..however THERE IS NO COLD AIRRRR... BLAH...Now I cant wait until we get that PV to shift, and give as tons of cold air, sadly when that happens suppression HERE I COME.. lol..then we will be looking out for clippers, if any.

According to the University of Waterloo we are at 1.2"

Touchdown!

Hmm I think I have it wrong. We're either at 1.3" through 6pm or 1.7". I didn't make note at what the precip was before the change to snow. 2.5 or 3.5mm. It's at 6.7mm now.

Ross Hull on SWO CTV News just called for 4" through tonight. I don't know where he gets his info from. HRRR?

just got in from a Jebwalk.....its coming down.

over an inch in the first hour with big fat flakes, but the snowflakes are now smaller but more numerous, still wet as the temp at CYOW is an even 0.0C.....the wetness is going to compact it, but i am still excited that it started as all snow and accumulated on everything main roads etc, immediately. should be a good night here.

i'll probably do another jebwalk later tonight when the heavier stuff gets here.

right now 32/31, mod SN in south ottawa.
