weatherwiz
Wow...just saw the NAM indices... TTs > 58C, H5-H7 lapse rates of > 8C/km, moist column, and LIs spike 17C here in 12hrs. Convective indices are pretty crazy. Even some weak sfc-based instability developing across parts of the region as well with a moistening column and CAA aloft coupled with steepening lapse rates. CoastalWx
Models kind of show like a back edge deformation area creating some light snows near 09z tomorrow.
ineedsnow
just looked at the radar and thought to myself thats got to be drying up before it reaches the ground but I went to the porch and turned on the light just to see and to my surprise mood flakes are falling!!! Merry Christmas!!

Weathergun
Not the best range. But 0z SPC WRF simulated radar, has a deformation band moving through Central and Eastern MA/CT and even Eastern LI. http://www.emc.ncep.noaa.gov/mmb/mpyle/cent4km/conus/00/

CoastalWx
These are absolutely perfect dendrites. I've never seen the dendrite structure so clearly like I'm seeing right now. It looks textbook.

Baroclinic Zone
Don't know if what is going on right now is part of this windex potential but I have a solid coating of snow right now.
TalcottWx
Don't know if what is going on right now is part of this windex potential but I have a solid coating of snow right now. Nope just scattered stuff from the low... i think this snow is a good indication we will see snow later.
ORH_wxman
The WINDEX parameters still look pretty good for later...the only thing I'd like to see a bit better is the low level lapse rates. They are somewhat marginal, but with a bit of omega from the PVA, those can be compensated for and the deeper RH into the mid-levels where the lapse rates are much stronger...so if the omega can punch into that ML setup, we could see some heavier squalls. Usually the LL lapse rates help that, but if they are marginal, you like to have a low level forcing to help get that omega higher.
dendrite
I love dendritic aggregates like that. powderfreak
This event has huge potential.... we are getting ripped here at the mountain right now. Holy sh*t I did not expect this so early in the day. Snowing hard with over 1" down at 1,500ft. This is beautiful snow growth and fluff-tastic stuff... I've got a good feeling for 3-6" of snow.
