blue60007
Ground is "heavily" dusted here this morning. Still flurrying away. Looks like winter. Some of the cars out my window have a 1" drift up against them!
daddylonglegs
Is all this crap you guys are getting from the lake? We had some flurries yesterday, but it didn't accumulate to anything. Cyclone-You should put a column with temp anomaly? I have no idea what your averages are this time of year.

Powerball
FWIW, we're probably still feeling some effects from the drought down in Texas as well... The increasing drought in Minnesota doesn't help either, because that just makes it much more easier for the dry/warm air in Texas to head northward, excluding the lack of snow cover... nwohweather
Idk how but here in Toledo my lawn is completely covered with snow. Must of gotten a good snow squall roll in last night, it's nice to see the ground snow-covered again. I still have nothing to brag about as my relatives in Mancelona are just getting buried
Nic
Snowing slow and steady picking up a little. Hrrr Ruc is showing a band from lake michigan reaching my area in central ohio. Seems to be right the heavier band is reaching near lima now.

cyclone77
Jesus, 43DBZ just north of DVN. Can't imagine how heavy that must be considering what we just had with sub 35DBZ. Gotta be some pockets of complete whiteout conditions in that.
daddylonglegs
Sun is out here...it is *&(*&(ing cold out there right now with that wind... Temp stuck at 20F. If we had a half foot of snow, it might be one of those single digit days/-20F nites.

daddylonglegs
Turtle= Kind of like yesterday here... Is it so dry that everything just evaporates? I noticed dews have dropped off a lot. turtlehurricane
Turtle= Kind of like yesterday here... Is it so dry that everything just evaporates? I noticed dews have dropped off a lot. Full sun here...but man is it cold... i'm to use to that warm 30F+ weather. Yup that's exactly it. It's so dry out that the snowflakes are sublimating faster than they can accumulate. Tonight is going to be an ice box, things should clear out and it's gonna go calm. Thank goodness there's no snowcover in Madtown at least, or it'd go way below zero. Current forecast is 5 °F but who knows.
daddylonglegs
Yeah...hard to go much below 0F with no snowcover. I can remember a few times in the past 20 years that we've dropped much lower then the low single digits in this situation. One thing is that the frost line can go a heck of a lot deeper with no snow, although the warm up starts soon and it will just thaw right back out. SpartyOn
12z GFS continues the progressive pattern. Fast transient shots of modified arctic air followed by periods of ridging. Interesting is the fact that the GFS seems to be trying to latch on to a somewhat a sustained arctic intrusion around 200 hrs. Question is will it happen..lol The 12z ECMWF in fantasy land. FWIW.. cyclone77
Starting to clear out just in time for nightfall. NWS has us dropping to 8. Would be close to the coldest of the season so far, which is 7. Like D-Long said earlier much of the area would probably be subzero if there was snow on the ground.
