Geos
According to Tropical Milwaukee will hit 60 late week. Of course that was based on the Euro showing 850 mb temps of 8-9 C. 44° is my forecasted high. Then temperatures fall for the weekend. Your gonna have to have a powerful southerly flow to boost temperatures that much in January. Usually that occurs right out ahead of a strong low passing to the north. Like January 7th, 2008. daddylonglegs
18z took a big jump from 12z and not showing any cold air around mid month now... looks mild... who knows. Today was brutal with that wind, even if temps weren't too bad.

Today was brutal with that wind, even if temps weren't too bad. Probably an extreme as it pumps the SE Ridge up pretty strongly. The 12z had a strong -AO at the end of the run. This run has a +AO and a strong -PNA resulting in storminess in the west and a pumped up SE Ridge.
BowMeHunter
Rather have the 18z and take some chances.

Stebo
On the way to work this evening drove through a snow squall in the Allen Park section of I-94. Vis went from 10SM down to 1/4SM within a mile and snow was rapidly accumulating on the freeway, enough that a car spun out right in front of me. cyclone77
A bit off topic, but SPC has issued the first "1" mesoscale discussion for the year for northern Ohio. Kind of cool to see considering how many they issue during the year. EDIT: Woops, looks like that one has been out for awhile now. Already number 2 issued for parts of MI lol.
