SpartyOn
Love it..11am and the disc'n peeps are showing up. This is unreal compared to other notable Jan torches. The ground is a dry and is not sloppy and there is no trace of Winters Snow. Just walking outside it feels more like mid March than Jan 5th. Anyways Im gonna enjoy today (and maybe the torch next week) and go for my best score. The 50s and sun are calling..
weatherbo
Mother Nature is telling us something. I'm sure she is, but what? It's not like this has never happened before and we're in uncharted territory tho. I decided to take advantage of todays weather and do an outside run... maybe plant some flowers
weatherpsycho
Where are you at in S MI? Thinking about heading to Swiss Valley this weekend, as they are finally opening with a 36" base. Took this a few min ago. All the snow here will vanish today, but this caught my eye. What an odd Winter so far. I have never been to Swiss Valley. If you go let me know how it is! I say south MI because I tend to be on both sides of the state A LOT. In SW MI I will go to Bittersweet and Timberridge. FYI ... Swiss Valley is one that uses this Shell Gas Deal anytime: http://www.skifreedeals.com/ YIKES a flower. Now that is scary!

A-L-E-K
can't remember seeing cold like that, wow. not to mention cold like that with a less than impressive snowpack in the northland. going to be a shame if we go from torch to ice box without spinning something decent up in the region. Geos
Looks like 50° will be reached today. Clouds rolling in from the north might limit the warming any higher. Only a low of 40° this morning!
daddylonglegs
12z GFS isn't as extreme...still shows a cold shot around the 18th, but not as strong. Shows almost no precip the whole run.

Ottawa Blizzard
Incredible temperature difference between Ottawa and Toronto today. It's 45F in Toronto with bare ground, and -10C (single digets F) in Ottawa with light snow!

Hoosier
57F @ IND. Think 60 is quite possible still. This warmth is with very shallow mixing not much past 950 mb. Imagine if we were able to mix a little higher.
SpartyOn
Is the Mid Atlantic or the Mid West? Now if we can just get a bomb to drop 20 inches of powder before we torch again.

SpartyOn
I hate this winter and everything is represents. It is toying with us. It is a whore. It is a sin. Even the 2001-2 winter is chiding this winter. How could it be this bad. How could it even think to be so vulger with its lack of activity? Pendulum will swing in the opposite direction. cyclone77
Does anyone know if there's a US map that shows seasonal snowfall total in decent detail? Kind of like the snow cover maps, but with total seasonal snow?
hawkeye_wx
We hit a pretty amazing milestone today. It has now been 11 months since our last 1" snowfall. Last February we had 10 inches from the GHD storm, then 1 inch three days later, but only <1" a few more times last winter and nothing so far this winter. I can't imagine we've gone this long many times before, if ever.
