Ginx snewx
I have to say that is the first time I've had hail in the winter I think. Lots of lightning too with that. Several close strikes. Awesome, just awesome. Hail to snow in 24, reminds me of a particular day last year. Sweet

OceanStWx
WTF brief scan of 70 KTS in SCT, maybe an error but damn It's been pretty consistently around 70 kt winds at about 7000 ft. I'm a little curious if maybe some reports prompted the SVR, since the scans don't look a heckuva lot different than when they were coming in. Sweet Yeah that would be a great way to usher in Xmas...hail to 3-4" of snow to ensure the White Xmas...hopefully the latter part works out now. Crazy...I was sitting here texting about the ice in Maine and then all of the sudden I hear pellets ripping off the glass window and I knew it wasn't sleet being 54F, lol. OceanStWx
Just East of me, that front rocked. Reports from coworker in Ledyard CT, no power, trees down. It seems like a very broken line, as in there is not one continuous gust front. It seems like you had to be impacted by individual updrafts directly to get wind. So one town gets rocked while the next one over reports next to nothing.
40/70 Benchmark
I feel blessed here in SNE to salvage a a good severe event, quite possibly followed up by a white xmas.....what a dual victory potentially snatched from the jaws of suck.
