OceanStWx
Impressive storms entering nw ct The storms are riding on the nose of about 50 knots of wind at 850. If the low level lapse rates weren't so poor, I'd actually be a little optimistic about some wind. Starts to become a little more marginally favorable as you head south of the NY/NJ border area. OceanStWx
Although of interest may be that the northern end of the line features some small CAPE in the hail growth zone (-10 to -30C). Don't be surprised to see a few peas (counts as frozen precip you know ).

nzucker
TSRA 59/58 Storms have been impressive here, loud claps of thunder and very windy, especially just off the deck. Hard to believe it's 12/21...should be a moonlit sky and a field full of a foot of snow. EDIT. I'm in Dobbs Ferry NY for now.

OceanStWx
I see now that TTN gusted to 60 mph. So it's not out of the question that the winds aloft overcome the marginal low level environment.
