Some Storms Possible Later

It looks like we'll see strong WAA out ahead of the surface low and cold front later today.

The models may be somewhat underestimating the high temperatures ahead of

the front. The potential is there for high temperatures to rise to around 60 degrees

at places like Newark. The surge of warm air will arrive with a strong subtropical

jet streak. While it looks like if any storms can form, they will be elevated in nature with

steep mid level lapse rates over the region. There is the possibility that some areas

could see some surfaced based pockets of instability.

These storms look better than 90% of the junk earthlight stayed up to 4am tracking on the SPC WRF over the summer

Was just going to say - we couldn't manage a squall line the whole summer yet we get our wish on the winter solstice. Mother nature can be a sick twisted mama sometimes.

my bedroom floor is now soaked. there are christmas decorations littering the lawns already lol.....had a decent gust a few minutes ago.

wow.. lol I ran in and out really fast..... but I'm enjoying the warm surge of air.. nothing like a brisk south westerly flow with temps in the upper 50's in late December.. I love nights like this where you don't need a jacket to go outside...
