moneypitmike
Must have been like this in some of those horrible winters when I was a kid like 79-80, but I didn't know what a wx model was so you didn't realize everything was failing. You just knew it could never snow. This is like shades of growing up in New London. Going to bed with hope (really an expectation) of a snow day and waking up to see wet ground. At lteast I have more today than the last event which had me completly skunked.
Logan11
First brown Christmas since 2006 ...really awful.... Can't even manage any LES to whiten the ground this season. powderfreak
What a sucky event. Light dusting on the grass, cars and deck. Snowing lightly. 31.7/31 You are north of Pete right? And only a couple hundred feet lower? Did that make that much of a difference? Your reaction is much different from Pete's this morning.
Cold Miser
Any snow at least for the hippie on the hill? edit: Just saw his obs from earlier. Tropopause_Fold
This is the year to lean warm until proven otherwise I think. In the end, another quasi-swfe that trended juicier, faster and warmer overall. Factor in the horrible antecedent airmass....disaster.

Going to bed with hope (really an expectation) of a snow day and waking up to see wet ground. Living in New London you expected snow? That's the one thing I never expected when I lived in that area, and rightly so given its title of least snowiest place in the state which averages just under two feet per year. It takes a festivus miracle to keep a storm all snow at GON.

mahk_webstah
Kudos to the Euro for being the only model to see this wave from last weekend.Other than that it sucked. I don't buy all the back slapping of the GFS. It had this storm near Bermuda while the Euro had us getting snow. The GFS gave us snow too remember just not as much. Every model failed. We have seen our last accumulating snowfall of the cold season. atheist 1-2 inches here....what a disappointment. I say to the big dendrite maker in the sky "Why bother?" Will it even last until Xmas?

CoastalWx
atheist 1-2 inches here....what a disappointment. I say to the big dendrite maker in the sky "Why bother?" I was a little tongue in cheek....it is pretty and sticking to everything...this pattern WILL turn and in a big way....and we will all be smiling. No late winter doldrums this year. We flip in mid Jan, rock thru March and then flip again for a great spring.
CoastalWx
I listen to Scott and Brian and then add an inch or two to Brian's totals. They are both fantastic...Scott throws more bones to us guys up here than any of the other Mets (although I love them all). Brian is conservative but in a very professional, appropriate and non-weenie way. While I always add an inch or two to his totals, I secretly fear he will be right and he often is. Brian are you a practicing Met yet or still in school? I admit I don't look too hard in that area so I usually just throw out some general overviews. I probably should have looked a little harder because the boundary layer sucked there. I also forget that you are only just NW of KCON. I sometimes get you and the guy from Bridgewater confused. Damage In Tolland
The weeklies were awful. Worst run we've had of them yet. They are a torch from weeks 1-4. Not sure where the word came from that they were good. They weren't

What I meant was that you throw a bone up here even though we aren't SNE...and I appreciate that. You are usually right. Noone was right on this one. I am 15 nw of CON but at 675 ft vs. 300-350 at CON so I usually do quite a bit better. I am 5-10 miles wsw of Brian as the crow flies and at the same elevation. I am literally at the border of Webster and Salisbury on Rt 127. Snowing hard up here now btw
ORH_wxman
Picture outside from about 8 minutes ago, Still coming down and has accumulated more since I took this. That is very similar to what just went through here....but the coating we got is already melting, lol. Its too bad we just couldn't cool the BL a bit sooner as we had some very heavy precip between 3-6am...but such is the life of this winter thus far.
