December 23rd light snow potential

I would think there would be bullish, middle of the road, and bearish. NWS is squarely on the bear.

Minimal accums in GC/northern ORH. Zero in CT. I'm not saying they're going to wind up being wrong, but it's a completely different take than what's happening in this thread.

43.3/38

Well in CT, it might be not much of an event at all, but I think nrn ORH county will get a decent amount. I don't like seeing the GFS remain stubborn though, but I think areas near RT 2 should do well.

I don't know what to think for my area. I'm nervous and worried and scared. Walking the line can sometimes be very good and sometimes very bad.

Hold thoughts until 12z guidance. Like I said yesterday...just keep things in perspective. You could get 3" or a coating..lol. I have this pit for you...but hopefully its unwarranted. I'm just looking at stuff now. Euro/SREFs are pretty good north of I-90. SREFs might suggest 1-2" for you.

I'm taking tomorrow off as a "use it or lose it" vacation day. Since Rt. 2 opened last week (finally, after the Irene damage), I'm thinking I might go for a hike in the Mohawk State Forest. I'm expecting that to be through a winter wonderland. Otherwise, I'll stay home and sulk. :)

Sounds like I';m not getting anything. Guess I'd better prepare for a brown holiday.

Not if you listen to NWS. But, you can't take them literally.

Seriously, I think you'll pull off an inch or two.

Meanhile, nice early morning. Whipping wind, Sliver moon ducking behind fast-moving clouds. Possible snow. If it wasn't 42.5 degrees, I might think it was late December......

The slightly south tick is definitely good for people like Kevin in N CT and also the suburbs of BOS because it allows them to get into a bit better cold air drainage in the BL even if they were still cold enough on previous runs in the mid-levels (like Ray's area).

After going back and reading some of these posts from you and Dendrite..I all of a sudden feel much better

I'm sure he's packin' more than that. Why would you kick a guy when he's down?

I'm liking a mid level frontogenesis band that fingers out ahead of the low near and north of I-90 right now. That will be out ahead of the main omega thump that moves in, an hour or two later. One of the reasons areas near Rt 2 may do well and down through Pete.

I'm afraid I may be cooked and the fears of losing the snow Saturday seem to be coming true. Hopefully ne winds will give some snow to the south shore.

I'd be happy with 1-3 which based on all guidance seems fairly reasonable ..but not a lock by any means, I do feel better after seeing that I was safe on the Euro

I thought you were barely safe on the euro. The 850 line just eeks to your south, but I think you want that a little further south. I honestly think you are on the line, but hiopefully you get some snow..I think you will, but I would not go higher than an inch or two right now. JMHO.

NECN:

Overnight Thursday... Thickening clouds with rain and snow developing from west to east around midnight. Lows in the 20s north, around 30 central, 30s south. Light and variable wind.

Friday... Rain and snow early, then lingering sprinkles/flurries and partial clearing late. A couple of inches in northern, central & the hilly terrain of southern New England. Highs 35°-45° from north to south. North wind 2-10 mph.

Yeah I agree. Caution is the way to play my area. I 'll just hope for the best and plan on another MLK which Will would love. lol
