At the BWI terminal sorting through this house of horrors. I will take the over on Ray's 1" call. Majority of interior SNE sees accums from this event IMHO. P.S. thank god im not flying to the plains. All CNN is talking about is the disaster out thete with travel. Gross mid level deck here. Solid overcast at about 15-20k approx. Winds nice and calm though. Happy Holidays!!!!!!

Jerry...I've never seen squirrels SO fat as I'm seeing this year. They're HUGE!

That's what happens when there is no real cold and no snow. They can easily find food and they aren't expending much energy keeping warm when it was 60 for 45 days.

I just saw two squirrels playing cards on my front lawn. They're that relaxed right now.

But...the fatness was noticed pre torch. It's puzzling. Like by 11/1 they were huge. They've never failed as a snow signal and if this year is the first time so be it.

Probably has a lot to do with the warmth in October. September 2.4, October 3.4, November 5.6 and December warm too. It was also a wet year so plenty of food around. Plenty of food plus low calorie burn to keep warm equals fat squirrels. Usually by now the foxes around here are looking matted and ugly....saw one this morning that'd have made a great scarf.

I understand the availability of food...especially when my wife keeps filling up the bird feeders and the squirrels come along and park their big, fat arse in the feeder and chow down!

Saw a fisher cat yesterday, our squirrel population has shrunk in the past weeks. Now I know why.

Great to see the big majority of SNE folks have ponied up for the donation drive. Getting close to the goal. We get a KU in Feb or March and I donate a hundy to the scholarship fund. I am buying good karma it has come down to that LOL. A miracle at Christmas is that we all are alive. Snow will be nice especially for the kids. Let's hope we can at least get some mood snows.

Some foxes and bobcats here, but by far coyotes are most prevalent. I hear their whimpery howls most nights.

They've done a number of them here. Plus we have a strong fox population. Last year when a neighbors cat got loose another neighbor tried to trap it...ended up trapping a really, really pissed off fisher cat.
