weathafella
CMC is very mild 12/25 late and beyond.
CoastalWx
The GEFS had it cooler for Friday and an inv trough hanging back for some lighter snows through Saturday.
CoastalWx
LOL, the GEFS completely lost the Christmas storm.
Typhoon Tip
Could be tied for the least snow in December in 125 years at Worcester, currently a trace has fallen… [edit: i tried pasting in the hard data but this editor/processor tends to screw up pre-formatted data making it jumbled and impossible to read]

Clinch Leatherwood
LOL, the GEFS completely lost the Christmas storm. Same pattern as always. 5 days is the go/no go on a storm...it lost it this run and 3 days is when the finer details get hammered out. The overall pattern is terrible and the results are what they are. Still hoping the Euro will go bonkers but.....
CoastalWx
Actually i take that back. They do have something well east of the Cape with a troughy look extending back into Maine. It looks like one of those runs where members are everywhere. They blow the storm up se of Nova Scotia.
TalcottWx
At the BWI terminal sorting through this house of horrors. I will take the over on Ray's 1" call. Majority of interior SNE sees accums from this event IMHO. P.S. thank god im not flying to the plains. All CNN is talking about is the disaster out thete with travel. Gross mid level deck here. Solid overcast at about 15-20k approx. Winds nice and calm though. Happy Holidays!!!!!!
weathafella
CMC vs GEFS/GFS is like night and day next week temperature wise. Are they seeing the same data? How can 2 sh*tty models be so different...
CoastalWx
The 12z ensembles looked a hair better than 06z. I still say that it's better to see a more OTS solution now, than having it show a hit.
Guvna
Squirrels lives are resting on the next week's wx imby. Jerry...I've never seen squirrels SO fat as I'm seeing this year. They're HUGE!
dendrite
Yes but lots of people were talking about the GGEM which became a total miss on the 12z too. If you consider a rainstorm as a miss then yeah, the GGEM missed. I'm assuming you're referring to Xmas.
Clinch Leatherwood
Jerry...I've never seen squirrels SO fat as I'm seeing this year. They're HUGE! That's what happens when there is no real cold and no snow. They can easily find food and they aren't expending much energy keeping warm when it was 60 for 45 days. I just saw two squirrels playing cards on my front lawn. They're that relaxed right now.

But...the fatness was noticed pre torch. It's puzzling. Like by 11/1 they were huge. They've never failed as a snow signal and if this year is the first time so be it. It was also a wet year so plenty of food around. Plenty of food plus low calorie burn to keep warm equals fat squirrels. Usually by now the foxes around here are looking matted and ugly....saw one this morning that'd have made a great scarf.

I understand the availability of food...especially when my wife keeps filling up the bird feeders and the squirrels come along and park their big, fat arse in the feeder and chow down! Clinch Leatherwood
Saw a fisher cat yesterday, our squirrel population has shrunk in the past weeks. Now I know why. They've done a number of them here. Plus we have a strong fox population. Last year when a neighbors cat got loose another neighbor tried to trap it...ended up trapping a really, really pissed off fisher cat.

Ginx snewx
Great to see the big majority of SNE folks have ponied up for the donation drive. Getting close to the goal. We get a KU in Feb or March and I donate a hundy to the scholarship fund. I am buying good karma it has come down to that LOL. A miracle at Christmas is that we all are alive. Snow will be nice especially for the kids. Let's hope we can at least get some mood snows.

Logan11
It will still be on the Euro I think, though maybe in a different variation... The GGEM doesn't lose it completely...clearly an event moving through 120-144. Low pressure near NYC at 144.. I'll be surprised if the Euro still has storm 2 today. Logan11
Some foxes and bobcats here, but by far coyotes are most prevalent. I hear their whimpery howls most nights. They've done a number of them here. Plus we have a strong fox population. ski MRG
Maybe a mangled flake at the end? This isn't exactly a QPF thumper so starting off warm means game over for most of us. Fail, fail, fail, fail. Your optimism shows no bounds.lol
