CooL
meh, history repeats itself. The 30" totals for some people may never happen again for them but a 20"+ blizzard for nyc metro will happen many times between now until we die (depending how old we are) lol. Getting 20"+ is proved not to be a once in a lifetime event..1996, 2003, 2006, 2009-2010.

Ridingtime
this, so much. Guys, stay strong, this winter is just beginning. You still have January and February plus some of March left, the pattern will change and I am sure you will get a good storm real soon. Now give me some good wishes for some here in Jerusalem, Israel. I have been dying to see snow here ever since I was born. And thanks for this thread so far. Had a blast last year living this storm out with you guys and it is fun reminiscing a year later. Happy Holidays to all!
Sundog
I remember cowering behind an electrical pole that night because the winds were blasting down the street unobstructed and they were ferocious. I was trying to get a video (which I got in the end) but man oh man my face was frozen solid and I had a quarter inch of snow on my eye lashes lol. About an hour later the power went out. billgwx
Worked the OKX day shift last Christmas Day to issue the blizzard warning and here I am again...sorry Santa doesn't have a blizzard in the bag for tomorrow as I did last year this time, but if everyone's good through New Year's Day I'll see about warming the stratosphere now that I'm back at the North Pole! Chris L
I recall going to the supermarket early in the morning, and it was a crazy mad house scene.... psv88
this thread is depressing. Might be 15 years before we see another blizzard like that. 1996-2010 - 14 years, last time we had widespread 2 feet plus event, winds over 60 mph and thundersnow combined in an allsnow event. Pure heaven
