CoastalWx
That day seemed to obey the classic signs of severe that aftn. The day before featured some severe over MI, but little convection to taint the atmosphere. The morning featured severe tstms along the warm front with not a cloud in the sky behind the front. Classic. EML and all.

It's weenie-ish as I was about a 6-pack deep since it was game 1 of the Stanley Cup finals..lol...but the lightning was non stop.

CoastalWx
I think if nothing else, Irene was a very scary wake up call for many. Lets face it, it was a dying piece of crap TS when it made landfall. Just imagine what would happen with a strong CAT II or worse in that spot. It's kind of scary to think what would happen if that were the case.

powderfreak
Our best snowstorm was March 7-8 last year with close to 30 inches falling in Stowe village. And then the March snowpack that was over 40" deep, burying fences and everything else.
