Srain
hey, your current conditions icon says rain! Yeah, we are starting to see heavier showers now. A broken line of of storms are developing along the I-35 Corridor pushing E in the warm sector. A Slight Risk is still up for parts of Central/North and all of SE TX. Uncle Bobby
Here are some photos that I just took about 45 minutes ago. Again, this is extreme southeastern Colorado, between Lamar and Holly. The trees in the background are about 1000 feet away. In the foreground, but behind the telephone pole, is a bunch of hale bales. That one is nearly the same as the first. The view is to the west, and the wind is blowing 30kts or so, R-to-L. I'd say we haven't had more than a few inches of snowfall yet, but it's always nearly impossible to gauge, given the way the wind blows. Notice how the ground is nearly bare where the snow hasn't drifted, which is what always happens. I said I had no neighbors, and that is mostly true. This mobile home is next door, but nobody currently lives there. It's getting dark now. I'll take some more pictures tomorrow!

Uncle Bobby
Good morning from extreme SE CO. To recap, I'm east of Lamar CO (on US50) and 12 miles from the Kansas state line. I'm going to go out soon and get a few more photos, but I don't think anyone should expect to see me post anything epic. Right now I'm enjoying my second mug of coffee, reading the news on the net, and listening to Christmas music. I called the Prowers County Sheriff's Dept earlier and offered to help any stranded motorists who may be around here. I was told there are some vehicles in ditches, but nobody stranded inside them. I have tow ropes and a 4WD truck with very aggresive tires, so I'm invincible, lol. I found a webcam from N of Springfield CO on 385, which is about 60M SW of here: http://www.cotrip.org/images/ws/camera?imageURL=162 Here's the lastest image from that camera: All major roads in SE CO are closed attm. jcwxguy
nded up with about 2 to 3 inches of snow/sleet combo. Model verification for my location : NAM =FAIL GFS = FAIL EURO=PASS *Euro was consistantly calling for 2-3 inches of snow in my area with only 1 or 2 runs not showing that . GFS + NAM numerous times had be 8+ inches until the last 12-18hrs, even then it was for 6" both models.
