donsutherland1
Bit of a weenie post here, so I hope you'll forgive me, but what set of conditions have there been in order for winter to see 40" or more of snow for NYC? 40" or more snowfall almost always has occurred during blocky winters. Since 1950, just 1/13 winters with 40" or more snowfall had an AO average > 0 (2004-05). 30" or more seasonal snowfall has had a higher share of cases with a positive winter AO. So far, NYC has received 8.2" snow for December.
