Chicago WX
Usually the departures are a little "muted" in this timeframe (day 15) on the ensembles. Not so much right now. Hideous.

Chicago WX
Yup. Light at the end of the tunnel? Not so much. Needless to say things have gotten a little worse since we thought there was light at the end of the tunnel. I hate knee jerk reactions, but I'd say we're hard pressed to get any real changes before mid month January. Not trying to be a debbie downer, but man this pattern going forward blows. Oh well, more time to relive the past for myself. As per Ottawa Blizzard's request, 1993-94 is up next.

It was sitting in the shed until the day we picked up those few inches of snow..Hmmm

daddylonglegs
I don't own a snowblower. I hope to enslave the neighbor kids to do all my yard work. I'm wondering if we'll get 30 inches this year...maybe Jan/Feb/March will be lights out.

daddylonglegs
23 out of 127 years have been less then 30 inches of snow here...So roughly 1 in 5 years... 1999-2000 was the last year we fell into that category (25.6 inches)... probably due for a low snowfall year. Nice, the clouds here look a bit menacing too as the cloud base drops below 1000 ft. Winter is coming back, down to 36 °F on top of the met building. Getting some pretty strong northwest winds too. The little sleet shower is over with. Got our quota of wintry precip for the week.

cyclone77
It's a long way out in lala land, but I like the phasing on the 12z GEM around 180hrs. Looks like it's about to blow up something huge beyond that.
Hoosier
Halfway through the month and considering what the long range looks like, there would appear to be a decent shot at December finishing less snowy than November for LAF. Per Tim's research, there have been 16 years that had more November snow than December snow. 1911, 1912, 1921, 1930, 1931, 1932, 1952, 1955, 1959, 1966, 1968, 1971, 1979, 1980, 1991, 1997

wisconsinwx
SC Wisconsin goes from temps in the low to mid 50s early this morning to some wind chills in the upper teens in the middle of the daylight hours, not that it matters with this overcast skycover.
