Geos
Once skies cleared last night it cooled quickly down into the low 20s, some ground fog formed over the snow cover right before daybreak. Some snow patches hanging tough in the shade and north facing ground. High clouds starting to drift in.
SpartyOn
Got down to 14 °F last night, which was quite unexpected. Definitely due to the snowcover, and thankfully the snow is melting off right now so that won't happen again for a little while. Lol. You sound like a novice with the cold. 14 ain't shat. Let's complain in late Jan with sub zero lows.

wisconsinwx
Pretty cool visible satellite loop this afternoon over the Midwest. Snow has melted very quickly over northern Illinois and southern Wisconsin. Yeah, not hard for our 0.3" to melt when the sun is out for a day. I'm surprised that areas that saw around 3 or 4 inches of snow have seen melting of most of it, though. A tad OT, for Tropical: since I know you will post in this thread tagged for you, where did you get your snow-making apparatus you showed pictures of at Eastern? It might come in handy as a Christmas gift....for myself this winter.
BowMeHunter
Snow still to be seen in shaded spots on roof and grass. What a torch to the west... Enjoy what little snow you have left because it's prob the last snow you see until next yr for most.

I know to much about this month already to know even if I was tebow its not going to be a white christmas here. We got to drive around after a christmas party on friday/sat am to get my fill of snow in the air and ground white xmas light peeping so all is fine outside the aggravation of the torch and no snow or ice on lakes in far se wi. And I'm sure you're aggravated as well that this weakening storm would have been near the ideal track for this time of the year for a storm, but of course the cold air is lacking and, like mentioned, weakens once it gets past the Plains. Hopefully folks north or south can cash in at least. I'm over worrying about the weather here and risk pissing off the wife until after the new yr. Then its game on to weenie out again. If I didn't get the late November snow gift here, I'd be a little cranky right now. I expected a slow start to the season for LAF, but didn't think it would as bad region wide. But we have to try to maximize whatever opportunities present themselves right now. Not sure if this threat is legit, but we'll watch and hope. That's about all we got. I'm just hoping for one good long storm to track and deliver.. outside of GHD that creeped into MKE there hasn't really been many other systems the last couple winters to really weenie out with. NW trend has been pretty dead except for GHD - the rain storms here have always shown their hand early so easy to accept but hard to fold - grr.... Kinna due one would think for a storm to look like rain in the mid-range fantasy land to actually throw a good surprise. Then again living down south like here we just come to accept the torch storms as the norm which is almost every winter.

Thundersnow12
Interesting. I see I must (well was - not updated) have been looking at yesterdays 18z gfs. Something to watch. That run kind of looks like the 0z Euro with impressive mid level wave swinging southeast into the central plains then going nuetral and eventually neg tilt over us.
