daddylonglegs
Looks like winter out there. Probably 1 to 2 here. Just enough to cover the grass. Clear skies now.

Chicago WX
Nice surprise dusting this morning... Yeah I figured it was going to miss us to the north. Winter does indeed exist...albeit for a fleeting moment.
IWXwx
My dusting pic. It's still snowing, but I figured that I'd better get a shot before it melts. EDIT: We have had at least 6 wrecks/slideoffs on I 69 in Huntington Co in the last 45 minutes, just from this dusting. It looks like I will getting paged out soon. It never ceases to amaze me that people can't remember how to drive when it's slick.

Finally!!!! Oh...and still snowing...hoping we'll have a couple inches by the end of today with some lake enhancement.

#NoPoles
It was like this in 2001-02. Of course we were a much smaller group back in those days. It was still ugly though...especially with all the hype by most mets that that winter was going to be cold and snowy. Congrats on you guys getting snow!!! I'm hoping our Oes pans out tonight..i think i'm going to have to go chase...if the snow won't come to me, i'll go to the snow...such an odd sickness to have... most of the board is snow starved...accept the southwest...an odd pattern this year... Snowstorms
Perhaps some hope for January, onwards; With the Sunspot total finally coming down after being incredibly high, perhaps we can squeeze in a -NAO/-AO anomaly later in the Winter as Low Solar Activity is correlated with blocking across the Arctic. Planetary AP index remains near record lows with the latest monthly value coming in at 4.00, the lowest since last year Nov/Dec. If the geomagnetic activity remains low, perhaps we can nudge in a bit of blocking but wind anomalies across the Stratosphere are still very strong with consistent westerlies but with the QBO finally falling across 50hpa, maybe something can change. ATM, I dont foresee any -NAO/-AO anomaly thru early January but lets hope the Pacific can improve some what. It would take a while for the Stratosphere to warm-up thus I dont think we'll see any SSW thru late December. Lets see.
wisconsinwx
Finally I see the first snow on the grass! How long it stays who knows; can still see some of the grass in many places, but at least it's a dusting.

Geos
Woke up to the sound of the snow plow this morning. Some locations like Darlington, WI in Lafayette County received 4" overnight! It's sad not seeing snow in the winter, when it is the norm. The rest of the U.P., back into Minnesota is in the same state of affairs. Small towns in central Wisconsin are seeing less tourism this month also.
Hoosier
Not sure if ORD was able to post its first inch...haven't seen an updated total out of there.
