I'm not sure where I saw it but there is a site that lists all the measurable snowfalls by year. on the NWS climate page it lists all the 6" snowfalls since 1969. No winter saw more than 4.

We have been able to get at least one a winter season with the exception of the late 90's and 2001-2002 with 2007 close.

Suppressed storms can happen, but I don't think this will be an eventful winter for any of the East coast cities.

Of course they can, but this year we're having a hard time suppressing them south of the Canadian border lol. I can't see the PV dropping south like in 09-10 anytime soon. I wish It would because we both did good that year.
