HIPPYVALLEY
Its not going to snow. So you bet your azz im hoping for a continued all out torch, there is NOTHING worse than cold and dry, its a drain on my wallet and completely useless down here. It sucks everything is wagons north, hell i was supposed to head to the Berkshires at just under 2k, doesnt even look like snow there. WHat happened to the cold this weekend, I hope the same thing happens next week, at least I can get out and enjoy the day! I don't mind if you torch on the south coast However, up here some of us do like to ice skate and ice fishing so a prolonged, dry cold snap is ok with me. Don't you have a wood stove? That should ease the heating bill. I've only used about 1/3 of a tank of oil this season thanks to the stove.
CoastalWx
Cin got her Kindle fire which has stemmed the tide of discontent. she calls the IPAD my girlfriend. Good thing boxing day failed I was commanded to not bring it with me on Christmas visits. I would have hidden it in the truck if there was a storm coming and used the ole getting some air trick. Last year was brutal on Christmas. Dirty looks all around, but I didn't care. A beast was developing and moving up the coast. No way am I gonna wait 15 hrs to check the models. HoarfrostHubb
Go to the New Eng forum and at the bottom click on the middle arrow that points to the right inside the box and it gives some options. Click the one that says add to home screen. I never knew what that was for! I've had my iPod for almost 2 years and now I learned something. You finally made a worthwhile post Thanks! No way am I gonna wait 15 hrs to check the models. I was on it, multiple excuses to get away. Caught red handed but made good when I told some visiting folks they should head back to NJ early. Then the wife got a thank you from them and told her to thank me. Saved that for future use.

To many people up our way and north depend on the cold and snow for income. I would much rather it be cold and spend a few more bucks heating the house. We bought a pellet stove and i havent burned much oil at all. What fun is 50 this time of year. You cant do anything outside anyway. Might as well be cold and dry. I know i have seen enough rain to the point i hope we are in a drought next summer.

I agree 100% and have made numerous posts regarding my hope that ski country gets clobbered with snow as it has economic impacts on our friends. However, nobody in sne is ice fishing and the ponds are not safe for pond hockey and the continued above normal temps this weekend will continue the theme. If a true winter pattern were to lock in that would be one thing but there are zero signs of that happening. Last year it was continuous snowpack and pond hockey from xmas on down here, this year the exact opposite. I does look like ski country will cash in this weekend with the clipper so that is fantastic news for our friends to the north.

Apparently didn't take the lens cap off for the picture at MP3, but here's about 1600'. Truck temp read 24*. 29.7/20 here at home. Gusted to 36mph in the last hour--not bad for 8'. wxmanmitch
Light dusting here in Lenox with off and on light snow showers and flurries. We're getting some light upslope stuff courtesy of that lake effect moisture reaching us, but unlike N VT we're not really getting any wrap around moisture from last night's storm. Everyone from Jay Peak, Stowe, Smuggs, MRG, etc. are getting absolutely destroyed right now. Some 35+ dBZ echoes from upslope snow up there, which is probably about 2"+ per hour.
