ski MRG
Just wait until the end of the month if we get a resurgence of warmth. MRG might open in February this year. Yeah, whatever. I'm not buying it. The rubber band will snap. I'm going to bail if it doesn't. It won't be the first time I've had to go to the snow.
powderfreak
did you get offended and report him? I have been listening to that crap from my Bro who just went back to AK. It won't be the first time I've had to go to the snow. That's what I've been thinking but then I've also been thinking in the larger scheme of things that this winter may actually be the rubber band snapping back. We've had so many good winters in the past 11 winters... so much so that BTV's average snowfall is 20-30" higher during that 11 year period than the 50-year mean! That's pretty incredible. BTV has been getting used to like 100+" winters and that's not normal. Same with Mansfield... we are getting used to hitting 100 inch natural snow depths (when the 50 year average max depth is 75") and an average of 325" of snowfall since 1998. We really have been due for a clunker if the law of averages has anything to say about it. That's the grim reality... we've been spoiled rotten lately. I'm still thinking we'll make up for lost time after the first of the year but you are very right that we're due for a boney winter. Hell, at this point I'd be happy with sustained cold but dry. powderfreak
Yikes... this is not inspiring, lol. Last year we were sort of slow to start but then had a 3 foot upslope snowfall in early December that got the ball rolling and it never stopped all the way to another 100 inch snow depth season. This season's graph is ugly but it might get uglier before it gets better.

Yeah I mean we won't get shut out this winter like we have pretty much so far... the short term rubber band will snap like MRG said, but I still think in the end this could very well just be one of those lean years. Not every year can be above average, lol. Even still, I'd like to believe our snowfall averages are high enough and mean temperatures low enough, that at the very least we should get a good 6-week period of "winter" at some point. We have an old sail and mast from a sunfish and some misc. steel and cable. My friends and I made them when we were in our teens. It was actually quite exciting, the only thing was as soon as the snow reached a certain depththey were rendered useless.

snowNH
Let me tell you right now… I got a good buzz… I’ve probably had about 12 beers and I’m going out to California in a day. This might be considered a meltdown, I really don’t know at this point. So, unless a freakish OES band hits me at 18z tomorrow, I’m freaking screwed of snow until about 12/26 until I come back from California. I thought this might be the right time to come up with a dictionary/perception/What I think of SNE posters right now…. Obviously I’d start with the biggest and baldest weenie of them all… CTBlizz---This guy is probably this biggest wishcaster I have ever seen in my entire life. He literally said that we would be cold by Thanksgiving, and snowing by the first of December… HAHA…. Buddy it was freaking 60 in MHT on December 5th…. What a terrible, Wishcasting call. You should have buried yourself in your 17 foot snowpacks by your basketball hoop on the side of your driveway. I really don’t know how I get 5/day’d when you can post the crap that you do. But in someway, I love your posts. Quote of the year on like 12/5… “The 12/20-12/23 threat is still looking good… lol” I still love you and could probably out drink you. 40/70 Benchmark – I don’t really know what to say. You used to be a huge weenie but it seems like that has tailed off with age while Kevin’s weenieism seems to have grown with age. It seems like your area has been getting screwed over the past couple of years. I like when you post, cause you are like in between the Weenieism that is Kevin and the conservatism that is Will. You’re in a weird “Interior coastal plain” part of NE and I honestly think you should just move to like Jaffrey, NH. CoastalWx--- You are pretty much the most down to Earth, best poster on the board to me. I mean your’re getting RA- in a dryslot and you still freaking post on here like your getting ripped with SN+ like Will. When I see your name Italicized I get giddy and will literally refresh my Droid until you post. Just looking at you name italicized right now I’m think you’re posting in my individual, non connected word document. If everyone else says I’m getting 1” you’ll say I’m getting 1.5”. You’re like the rally monkey of SNE. WeatherNC--- What the hell were you thinking last week??? HAHAHAHA ORHWxMan--- I really don’t think I have to say anything. Whatever you post, I think I’m reading the freaking Bible of SNE history. Whenever you say “interested” I think SECS…. Whenever you say “the Euro looks pretty good right now” I think MECS…. Whenever you say “ Euro is a huge hit for SNE” I think HECS. You usually un 5/day for OBS and I love you for that. TyphoonTip--- The freaking Shakespeare of SNE. Whenever you’re name is italicized I think it could be a quick 1 minute post or like a 35 minute monologue. Your 5 paragraph serenade to the boxing day was probably more exciting than actually reminiscing of the storm in our areas on the 28th. You are probably one of the most “hidden” optimists of the board and whenever you post, I think that a significant storm could possible hit my town. CT Rain---- Unfortunately you’re like the Grinch of the SNE board. You’re like the Felger and Mazz of the board, always finding the negative of everything. Although, Whenever you get excited about a storm, everyone else should expect power to be out for 6 days. I s WeathaFella – The Captain Ahab of the SNE board. I’m thinking every day he’s hunting the Moby Dick of what is winter of 2011-2012. It seems like the guys has been through 1978, hurricane of 1938, Blizzard of 1888, year without a summer in 1812, and the Ice age in the early 1600s. ThebigRombalski---- I don’t know you. You don’t post much, but you seem like the partier of the crowd, along with AmyB (Whoever that is) SkiMRG---- You say you’re at 2K but you’re really only at 1,400’… That elevation helped you on the last storm…. I don’t even know what you do, but I guarantee I can kill you in golf either straight up or in a skins format. Whenever you post it has something to do with your elevation or skiing. I mean you were actually arguing that this fall/winter was normal temps earlier and then I noticed you finally gave up to that as*-wipe Litchfield. I’m really concerned that MRG will get enough snow for the Winter. I’m wicked concerned about the ski season of 2011…. NOT MoneyPitmike - You don’t really post much unless you’re getting like 30 inches of snow like 10/29 and 2/25/10 Litchfieldlibations --- Sun. Sun. Sun. Smiley. Smiley, Heavy Humid. Sun. Sun. Sun Smiley, Great summer!!! Best Summer Ever!!! WOW sun sun Smiley Smiley Smiley… Not looking forward to summer when he is posting the above and wiz is posting about like 500 lapse rates at 6:58 in the morning… WeatherWiz – You missed the best severe day in NE in probably you’re life time. Sorry. Oh Actually one more thing, Sorry again. ETauntonMA--- 2011/10.29 Juju Guy…..He got me the 10/29 storm… good enough in my book. Trials…Snow88 (NYC guys) ---- “I’m gonna start tracking the snowstorm showing on the 324 hour GFS!” CapeCodWX ----- Don’t really think much of your posts actually. Which is probably a good thing. Since you became a MET, I have more respect for you and was really hoping you would be blown into the Stratosphere with the 10/29 storm. Dryslot/MaineJayhawk --- The “ Maine butt buddy brigade” Messenger --- The RUC freaking blows buddy. This is the only guy on the board that will take minute by minute NOWCAST of a storm. I kind of feel bad for him though cause I know he’s missed out like the past 4 KU storms…. I hope he gets like 8 inches tomorrow. HubbDave/Ginx- I don’t know why, but I think you guys are like the Terry Francona of the SNE thread. Your posts seem to appeal to everyone in the form. No one’s ever says “What a stupid post Dave/Ginx, did you even look at the models?” Great bench coaches to the moderators. Blizzard24- Everytime this guy posts, I think of what it would be like to live in the 1700s with no technology. He’s like the Caveman of the board. “Its going to snow” “It will snow hard” “LC JB STEVE said heavy snow” His posts are so simple, yet so entertaining. I have yet to find out why…… Dendrite- I really don’t know why to think about you to tell you the truth. You’re kind of like a Ryan to me. You could be forecasted for like 12-18 and you’ll find something wrong. Just my opinion. weatherMA- The highschooler of the board. Hope you get laid in college… NZucker – Dude you get called socks on here. I’ve seen pictures and I don’t even know where to start. You’re like the Steve Buscemi of the board. WxWatcher91 – The correct snowfall map guy. You should seriously send your posts to TV weather stations so they can show them on TV. I usually look forward to your posts. However, there was 1 month between November 2011 and December 2011 where you were either getting laid, smoking weed with dryslot, drinking heavily, or had a concussion. Your posts were weenier than mine at sometimes. Powderfreak – PeopleinNewHampshiredontcareaboutVTskiingfreak… Sorry if I missed anybody. There’s random posters like Ottawa Blizzard, Snow88, and Hambone, that quite frankly I don’t give a craps arse about. I don’t even know where to put this freaking post, so I’ll just put this in the banter thread. I hope you guys get something in the week that I am gone. This is the worst pattern I have ever seen since following weather. When ever I read the board in the afternoon I think its alphabet soup rather than a weather thread. A, O, P, N, A, O, P , P, S, S, W…. This just freaking sucks cause we’ve been talking about this epic winter for the past 5 months. Even Jerry was getting a little pants tent for this winter. Its going to be a nice 7 day break from the board in which I will not even read a post from a when I leave until I return. In case I don’t post ya. Good afternoon, Good Evening, and Goodnight!
