There are many storms that could be added to the database. Here are the three I'm rooting for:

September 09-11 1968...998 mb on Long Island with 40-55 kt winds.

September 10-13 1992...hurricane which passed only about 150 nm offshore Cape Cod...had been a cutoff low in the middle Atlantic that retrograded during the preceding week to just offshore the NC outer banks by the afternoon of the 11th, where it appeared to be developing into a tropical depression with some central convection. It formed deep convection overnight, was a small cyclone, and maintained an eye for several hours on the morning of the 12th while SE of New England. It moved right over Sable Island as it was weakening later that day, which reported the weakening eye, a pressure in the 990s, and a temperature that rose to 70F near the center, before falling back into the mid 60s after the low passed by. It was probably a 40 kt tropical storm at this time, and it weakened rapidly as it moved into Nova Scotia.

September 12-17, 1999...system between Floyd and Gert...QuikSCAT data hints this may have been a tropical storm...ship report of 35 kt at 16/1800 UTC and buoy 44137 pressure of 1005.4 mb at 16/1620 UTC
