CapturedNature
I saw this from a local Springfield (MA) Met and thought I would share: http://www.wggb.com/...heres-the-snow/ I guess we're not the only ones starting to wonder (at least for a chunk of SNE). ORH_wxman
Well he's right that the NAO definitely limits snow chances, but the Pacific has been plenty brutal too...we had a monster +NAO in Dec '07 and had plenty of snow chances. The exact configuration of the +NAO matters too. The '07 version wasn't bad for New England...esp if the PAC allowed enough cold air to come into Canada which it did. ELCwx
Looks like he reversed the GFS and Euro labels in the 500mb discussion. Neither looks very good anyway. Is the "LRC Theory" something real or just something of his? Not sure a cycle going back 30-40 days from late December would by itself show hope for snow/cold after Christmas.
