The_Global_Warmer
the November AMO from NOAA is -.0.035 the last time it was negative was May of 2009. Where it went 5 months negative from January to May. Monthly AMO anomalies from Jan 1979-Nov 2011. Shorter closer look at the AMO: That is the yearly averages. the data set is much better after the late 1940s and 1950s. The rest is extrapolated from ships and buoys which is not exactly crap at all. probably pretty accurate. Anyways. I wanted a new thread to talk more specifically about the AMO. The previous high was 11.65500 GJ/M2 for the Oct-Dec tmeframe in 2003m The new record high on the data set is 12.35800. In fact for the 9 months of data so far 2011 is going to the be the highest year on record on the data set unless the Oct-Dec come in much much lower. global Sea Level rebounded this year. It will be interesting to see if this continues. Probably coincides with the higher OHC? I am not sure. The PDO shorter range to show 2011: Very Negative.. I am tired and need sleep...I just wanted to get some of this stuff in one thread to discuss so it's not all over the place.
PottercountyWXobserver
Just goes to show you that even with a -PDO and cooling AMO we are still experiencing global warmth. Really hate to see how much the globe warms once the PDO flips back to positive.
WeatherRusty
The one's to watch are the OHC and SST, which continue a general increase despite the fluctuations in AMO, PDO.
