MAG5035
So by this map we don't even see any flakes in Pittsburgh?... These maps usually only display the nws coverage region where the map came from, here's Pittsburgh's snow map

Blizzard92
Very interesting how the Pittsburgh and State College NWS advisory grids do not really match up at all for the western portions of the state especially when taking in account elevation and typical upslope/orographic enhanced areas. MAG5035
just heard some thunder??? That come with snow? Looked like a pretty feisty squall that rolled through you. Flakes are flyin down here with some decent wind gusts, deck was lightly dusted.

JamieOber
Quite a little mini blizzard just now, roaring winds, heavy burst of snow, low vis and coated the cars and grass. Dropped the temp from 36.4 to 32.7 in 10 minutes.

JamieOber
Looks like a decent band setting up just to my north - the drive up 322 Port Matilda Mountain might be a bit tricky right now. Just light snow here but I noticed the ridge we can see from our upstairs window to our north has disappeared.
JamieOber
It's almost as fascinating to track the forecasts, ideas, wishcasting, doom and gloom, etc. all across AmericanWx as it is tracking the weather itself. It really is, to me anyway, fascinating to watch.
EasternUSWX
Flurries here currently. I think when this really gets going later I might even see up to an inch. This seems like one of those events that might just do it.

JamieOber
BAH GAWD ITS A FLIZZARD! HUGE, PUFFY FLAKES!!! Last night we got a cell that gave us a dramatic, roaring mini-blizzard, vis down to like 100 feet, heavy snow, and based on radar I was expecting maybe even thunder. It was gone it about a minute. Probably jinxed us.
