Yeah, anything that falls here will stick. We have a light dusting, it's 23 degrees, and when I was walking the dog I noticed the ground is frozen pretty solid.

Wonder if we get a band of snow with the arctic front when it roars in Sunday?

Up your way, I would not be surprised to see a few inches (1" - 3") with the frontal precip, and lake effect afterwards. The next three weeks might end up being the highlight of winter across Central PA. But the past two years have featured some impressive winter weather, so we've had our fun. Winters like this make me truly appreciate the 10" - 15" snow events. :snowing:

Yeah sauss was just looking at abc27 weather site and they had 40 for a high with a 0% chance of precip today. Hard to imagine a worse weather team.

Even the heat in my apartment did not temper the chill this morning. Dry, still, cold air really takes the warmth from you.

It appears the threat for any kind of large scale synoptic snow event is going to be on the shelf for the time being. I'm still really cringing at the reality of failing to cash in on the past 2 high qpf events whose tracks would typically deliver snow to most of the region. In the meantime, we finally have a legit cold outbreak set to come in early next week. Given how mild it has generally been, the lakes are above average for this time of year and they are likely going to explode when that arctic air comes charging down. The Laurels and NW PA could be looking at a nice LES event. Ski resorts are going to have finally have a good snowmaking week for a change next week as well, and places like Blue Knob and Seven Springs should get some noteable natural snow to boot. Away from the traditional snow belt, this kind of major cold outbreak coupled with the warm lakes could also send some heavier bands of snow into central PA and sometimes these can put down some nice snow in places like State College.

Great post.

BTW, looks like a decent band of snow on the way here. Just starting.

Big time low bust on the temps also....we got to 31, that's it.

This winter's rockin'.

Got another batch heading our way. Hell, might get an inch.

Been in Altoona for the past several hours not around the computer, got completely caught off guard by this snowband that just worked it's way through. Roads were gettin covered on the way back and huge fluffy flakes pounding down. Worst of its through now, looks like we got a heavy coating. Should be a nice one for you Jamie.
