JamieOber
Winter 2011-2012 Lyrics Here I sit witty upon my porch Clear, sunny and fifty resembles a torch Once a pimp with model lust turned to dunce with a forecast bust Damned by the Euro, occasionally the NAM constantly abused and even rammed Most hail the GFS Some say the Ukie, but only Bums who like big piles of dookie CMC burns like a stinging pee, from a contracted STD at the DMV! This winter is so bad I wouldn't mind being drafted, anything is better than being maimed, beaten, and shafted! Hahaha here is something I thought of out of model anger and winter so far lol, hope you guys like it Sign the Euro lost the storm - poetry posted in subforum Sign weather sucks

I was just trying to be funny in times of bad weather lol. At least I'm seeing some decent Lake Effect right now. Hopefully you guys can pick up something soon. I was really hoping for the 2-4" yest, but to much WAA ruined the fun!
hckyplayer8
Well the 00z GFS trended towards the Euro. It now has an OTS storm at the same timeframe the Euro has the storm...Now I am hooked, I have to stay up for the 00z Euro! I am such a freaking ! 0z ECM doesn't split the HB PV. Ridging does not build into the Davis Straits. Troff does not swing negative. Do not pass go. Do not collect $200 dollars.

canderson
Forgetting about snow completely, what is the thing that has prevented arctic air to reach us and not even get close? We have yet to have a run of "really cold" days do far.
djr5001
Forgetting about snow completely, what is the thing that has prevented arctic air to reach us and not even get close? We have yet to have a run of "really cold" days do far. The pattern has just been so active that not long after we have a cold front move through we either have a high set up to the south allow temperatures to rebound or end up back in warm sector of next low pressure system. Lack of blocking doesn't help keep cold air locked in place either. We really dont see many "really cold" days around here until January/Feb anyway so if Euro/GFS play out for next week with 850mb temps reaching -16 to -20oC we will see quite a chill arrive pretty much on schedule climatologically speaking. hckyplayer8
Haven't seen anything that builds blocking since yesterdays 12z Euro. This threat is a goner if we don't fix the downstream issues.
north pgh
Had a steady light band over me for 30 mins or so and now have a white ground...woohoo-LOL. Up in Wellsville NY just had a nice band. Picked up about an inch over the last 2 hours. Best snow I have seen this year thus far. Goes to show what kind of winter this has been so far. Santa Clause
Boy has this "nice clipper" fallen apart at the seams. Goes north or us, questionable 850 temps, and 42* at 2m. No thank you.

JamieOber
One sort of good sign is everyone across the forum here seems to be buying into a temporary shift in the pattern to a much colder one for next week.

JamieOber
jamie it was discussed on monday..and looked good on tues, but has fallen apart so now its meaningless lol. Eh, that. Not really a loss. I guess people who get lake effect should be looking forward to early next week. Appears to be a decent setup. We had non-stop flurries yesterday, with an occasional snowshower that gave us a dusting. I swear, it's like we are in a perpetual November. PottercountyWXobserver
Coldest air of the season yesterday, or at least for me. The high was only 24-25F and I had a low of 8°F this morning.

Yeah, anything that falls here will stick. We have a light dusting, it's 23 degrees, and when I was walking the dog I noticed the ground is frozen pretty solid. Wonder if we get a band of snow with the arctic front when it roars in Sunday?
