NYC Winter Composite Thread

Recommended Posts

I put together five types of composites that produce specific types of weather here during DJF.

Each composite is made up of 15 events for that type of weather to get a good sample size.

1) 12 inch or greater NYC snowstorm

2) 6 inch or greater NYC snowstorm

3) 1 inch or greater rainstorm

4) Record low temperature

5) Record high temperature

good post... Boy, can we look any further from 1, 2 and 3 right now? wow! Unfortunately, number 5 looks like the closest analog so far in December

In fact, I was just making a comment in another thread regarding the forecasted height anomolies in the NH and I was saying that we need to see a much stronger gradient oriented north-south to really see some signs of blocking.

Thanks. Yeah, it's a whole different set up this December.
