michsnowfreak
A very narrow band of snow managed to developed on the back end of a large shield of rain, and SE MI was lucky to be right in its path. Rain turned to snow late afternoon and the wet snow fell all evening, dropping 2.4" imby but 3.4" at DTW. Made for pretty scenes. The ground was so saturated, however, that it soaked up nearly all the snow this afternoon (but yet the rooftops all remain snowcovered). Took pics around midnight, I really like the 3rd pic. michsnowfreak
Nice Pics!!! Thanks. There just has not been much winter to photograph yet this season. Ma Nature has been kind enough to throw some scraps at southern MI, which is more than most of the midwest/northeast. Methinks a hardcore backloaded winter this year for the midwest/Lakes/northeast. superjames1992
Wet snow is so picturesque. Unfortunately, it is also quick to melt.
michsnowfreak
Wet snow is so picturesque. Unfortunately, it is also quick to melt. Its rare, but if you can get the PERFECT combination together....a wet, plastering snowfall followed by some powderier snow and sharply falling temps but with little wind, the wet snow can stay on the trees for a long time.
