ORH_wxman
I'm out....too big of a risk and too low a reward. Set an alarm for 4am and check it out...back to bed if it sucks. But you might be able to pull off a really wild 2 hours.
ChrisM
before I go...temp down to 35 at home. I think things may get interesting there. I called for a 1 am changeover there so I'll be a little late, but I bet they change within the hour and rip for a little while.

ChrisM
Where's the snow line now? gotta be a line from somewhere in E NY to about the CT/MA/NY Border then it probably takes a rather east cut from there toward pete and north from there...all advancing ESE. temp just crashed a degree to 34 at home, changeover should be before 2. Logan11
I think 3 inches is within grasp here if this light snow+ can continue for a bit longer. Blowing a lot here now from the northwest so definitely a very wintry night. The snow is paste on everything...might have had an inch more if it was falling gently, but no air pockets in this snow cover.
OceanStWx
HRRR did a great job with getting the wind gusts into JFK on time. It continues to advance that area of wind east, and expands to include 50+ kt gusts by the time it reaches the Cape and Islands around 09z. There's your stinger... ORH_wxman
coating Will 0" Ray 0" Kevin I'd be fairly surprised if it was that bad....I expect more than a coating here. Ray will probably get measurable too. Same with Kevin. But its going to be close...its a fine line between 2" and not much at all.
CT Rain
Many mesonet readings in Litchfield county are AOB 32F. Imagine they are snow and in for a surprise tonight.

Mr Torchey
This last band of precip is on the doorstep that extends back to allentown, consolidated nicely, if its going to snow we have 90 minutes, reports of snow from earthlight and sleet in staten island. ORH_wxman
The stinger on the tail of the CCB is starting to light up a bit as it goes through NJ....if we are to get a good show, this feature will only continue to strengthen over the next hour or two. Same with Kevin. But its going to be close...its a fine line between 2" and not much at all. Had stuck with the 1/2 - 1" for you and kev, coating/slush for weatherfella and Ray. Euro clown maps are less interesting than the 12z which is interesting to me. I know they're clown maps but they'd have most of western MA in 2-4" by 1am...and then sweep that over you in a few hours and probably win the bet for Jerry. Doesn't quite seem to be playing out that way. Feel like I should go higher for you and Kev towards .75 to 1.5 or maybe even 1-2 but who knows...let it ride, if it rips it rips. I think jerry has a better than 50/50 shot of winning the bet tonight.

I still favor no, but its going to be close. They could easily rip out 1.5" if it goes right, but also could in more scenarios get a trace of 34F wet snow.
