dendrite
Well from a forecast of 1" of qpf here from 0Z to 12Z ...probably won't be more than .3 or .4 in that time frame..... everything setting up a bit southeast of forecast..unless an enhanced band can set up real fast even as it is all shifting steadily southeast. It will happen, but too late for here I'd say. You're too worried about the brightbanding which is more an effect of higher reflectivity off of the wet snow aloft than off-the-charts heavy precip. ORH_wxman
The RUC is getting more impressive with the backside snow...its been running behind the other guidance all evening.
Organizing Low
All nighter for me? I really want to be up to track this, but I need to get some sleep. hmm. Anyway, looking at the 00z nam, looks pretty decent for 2-3" here. 23z HRRR shows about 1" but has 3-4" not too far north of here. Here's the HRRR snow accum map just for lols. that cant possbily be right, it has me at 2-3 inches i will eat my shorts if that happens
weatherMA
gfs looks about the same...changeover runs around 8z for ORH and snows for an hour or two before precip shuts off. maybe 1.5" for Will and .6" for me.
Organizing Low
He sits in his evil lair running the snow magnet... none for you, none for me, it's all his he was really pissed at messenger, i think that was the final straw he probably high-tailed it to the magnet control panel to adjust the settings after that. Cold Miser
As much as this storm sucks for most of us, I need to know which met here made the comment about most of this season's snow would be Eastern NY, and points west or something like that a few weeks back? While this is only one storm, pretty good call.
Organizing Low
That's the way it goes.... I think you and Pete will be in the best band at the right time after midnight. It can't ramp up in time for me this far west.... sorry to hear that Rick these things always slip east in the final 24 it seems....it takes a special storm to maintain maximum west capacity. have a safe trip to Steeltown tomorrow. maybe you can check in on Ottawa Blizzard for me
Logan11
I see what you mean, but kinda running out of real estate here to get more than 3 or 4 inches total. Back edge is 40 miles away..so have to do it all in the next three or so hours.. Nice moderate snow now and probably 1.5 inches down. You're too worried about the brightbanding which is more an effect of higher reflectivity off of the wet snow aloft than off-the-charts heavy precip. Clinch Leatherwood
he was really pissed at messenger, i think that was the final straw he probably high-tailed it to the magnet control panel to adjust the settings after that. He was last reported heading down the MA Pike on his skis carrying a tazer muttering messenger over and over again. Sleep deprivation does weird things I've been there as have most of you. That said I'd never say that type of thing online to anyone. Going, gone over to snow in albany so the magent is working. http://www.cbs6albany.com/sections/news/webcams/skycam/
Ice Warrior commander
I'm actually more interested in the wind tonight. Wind fetish... An inch or 2 is no big deal. I had 2 of those and much more before Halloween Nice. I have a wind fetish too too.. You'll have snow flakes roaring by nicely at the end of this. Can't wait for the Vort to move across the waters S. of L.I. Do you remeber the March 1984 (29-30th) storm? Wait thats OT..lol.

Organizing Low
anyways, hope many of you get a flash changeover from rain to S+ for a few hours that is personally one of my favorite types of events, so i will be quite jealous even moreso than a cold snowstorm. i'll be pulling for Scott (Coastalwx), noone on here deserves to see some snow more than THAT guy right now. CoastalWx
You can tell the LLJ is starting to crank ahead of the warm front. The cells are looking more convective over srn CT, and every once in a while...it just pours here at home.

Heres the 01z total snow map I was looking at We won't really know whether we get a half inch or 4" until probably sometime around 06z. I think we'll start to see where the snow line is and how fast its moving relative to the intense lift. If Pete and MPM are ripping snow by 06z and Socks shortly after, then we are probably in pretty good shape.
Logan11
About a five hour drive out there to Hamilton I guess. I like these strong systems, and it will come sooner or later. Not a big deal, although it will be nice to see some dendrites again. I probably spend to much time here, but I enjoy discussing and talking weather...especially with the many knowledgeable mets and hobbyists. And you deserve a jackpot, too man. You always post during these storms that are hitting eastern NY, or SNE, or ME/NH/VT or whatever. I never hear you posting about your backyard though or when models look really good up your way. Its like you only come out when south of you is getting hit.
