Boston to NE CT (Not sure about Kev) I think the changeover isn't much at this point...said slush at Logan and I'll stay with that. 50+ degree ground and soaking rains prior.

Up by Ray and over towards Will and points NE we could see a decent changeover. Still thinking 1/2 to 1" for now. Down by Kev not sure he's going to be in the "gold" on this one, we'll see later.

Sunday River could walk the fence on this one. 10 miles either way is joy or the agony of defeat. NW MA up by the NY/VT border may get it pretty hard.

I'm going to climb the mountain this afternoon looking to see if the changeover has reached the peaks. I'm thinking 4-8 in town 6-12 on the mountain.

We are down to 30F at 4,000ft.... though not seeing snow, more like freezing drizzle. I'm just guessing its so moist and the forcing is very weak that we aren't hitting the snow growth region.

Could be fun at ACK late tonight...maybe even Phil. The maybe 50kt nw gusts?

yeah it's going to howl out on the island tonight...even out here it's got a short window where SW winds crank.

i'm having a tough time with tomorrow AM. the GFS is still through the roof with the wind. the NAM is a lot more meh. The GFS would be HWW type stuff for a couple of hours...the NAM would be low end wind advisory. lol.

The NAM looked like a shot of 45KT winds for you..maybe even a bit higher for like an hour or two. It slowly seems to be coming up, but I don't by the GFS winds yet.

12z NAM really rocks us here in Albany. Significantly colder run at the surface (by 2-3 degrees) with 850s dropping below zero before the heaviest banding moves inn. If rest of the 12z suite supports it...most forecasts in this part will bust low. NWS has 1-3"...I'm thinking 2-4" but may up it if other models support the NAM.

Just give me 2 inches. I'll be happy. Should be able to keep that OTG thru the weekend with the cold shot

I'm with you...it would be nice to have something to aid in radiational cooling. I think it'll work out.

BTW, has the cold front passed you yet? I think it finally hit my house in Stafford but doesn't have appeared to reach Union yet.

Good thing you inserted that "1" is lieu of the "i"...that may have spared you Bob's wrath.

Your secret is safe with me....lets hope he doesn't realize what you did, there.

Well lots of winter to go. I threw that in there to have a little humor amid this pattern. January is concerning me a bit, but it has been known to be a month where things flip too.

Hmmm. I was thinking the track overhead would hold the strong gusts off until the storm passed. Maybe 20-30mph out of the SW then crank out of the WNW.

I had 2" @ the end of December 2006....if it weren't for that freak Oct fluke, which is essentially independant of the winter season, then I think I would challenge that....probably not "beat" it, but I'm confident that this month will finish under 5"....AIT.
