Something else that occurs to me (that may not have any bearing on how this system affects the area...) is that the idea of an attenuating system as it moved under us is gone. Originally, the S/W got damped almost out of existence entirely by the time it reached the longitude of Nova Scotia. It doesn't even pass under them anymore - the opposite now: west while deepening.

It's actually intensifying as it moves up now, partially then fully phasing with the eastern flanks of the deep PV in Canada ... She goes hypber bomb by just NE of Maine on this GFS run. Real deep house-sucker low, down to 960mb. The UKMET and some other deteministic guidances I saw yesterday suggested this type of synoptic evolution as well (didn't bring it up with all the consternation/hand wringing over p-type going on at the time).

Anyway, I find it fascinating how this has evolved away from a flattening attenuation, to a huge phase assist in the runs over the last couple of days. It might also offer some plausible explanation as to why this is finding a way to come perhaps too close (west) in these recent runs.

Nice.

Wait on the EURO before assuming the gfs is wrong. the 0z euro looked very similar to the 12z gfs

I have a hard time rememebering when it has been right, The euro at 0z was west of the 12z run yesterday, But the 0z Euro was colder then the 12z gfs today and was east of its track, The GFS corrected back towards the Euro, We will see if it overcorrected, This still may end up ticking back SE as we get in closer like many have done so far..

Dear god not this again

ctsnowstorm628[/b]' timestamp='1323191028' post='1170510']

right...i said I DONT CARE

are you a Met major at LSC? well then holy crap, you should care...you are going to be working alongside women in a professional environment, so you better learn what the heck is appropriate and what isn't

and how bout this...

do you have a mother or a sister? someday you might have a gf, wife, and daughter...what types of comments would you want people to make about them?

instead of joining in with those who might make inappropriate comments because you find it amusing....it's better to speak up against those types of comments...but if you can't do that, keep your mouth shut, at least you're not adding to anything...

It went from the furthest SE to the furthest NW in about 3 runs..

Yeah out-to-lunch unless this tries to phase instead of getting booted eastward. As Tip mentioned, that is the big change in the mid/upper levels right now. What was supposed to get pushed out to sea by confluence is now threatening to get absorbed into that vortex.

This keeps happening...since at least August....regular and overperforming qpf. It is why I'm optimistic for heavy snow this winter even though it is warm.

you should be saying that to the guy who the comment, not to the woman who merely pointed it out.

This has always been a very politically correct forum, talking about weenies in fannies and such. I can't imagine someone implying that a TV personality is on air because of her looks is really all that bad considering what is usually talked about in here
