yoda
.13" so far at DCA this hour.. break out the bubbly Didn't you doubt this much QPF?
Deck Pic
I know we all wanted snow, but I think it is good to take a larger look at this storm and recognize how impressive it was. The big precip record, a beautiful radar, winds picking up from almost nothing to a 40mph gust at DCA. Some cool stuff. that probably should have been the focus, because it is a very impressive and dynamic storm

The big precip record, a beautiful radar, winds picking up from almost nothing to a 40mph gust at DCA. Some cool stuff. Gotta agree with this. I was so focused on trying to squeeze out a dozen flakes that I never really thought about 3" of rain and 40mph winds. Pretty potent little system even if it is only wet. It's also interesting that Salisbury is still in the mid 60's and garret co is in the mid 20's. 40 degree spread in a small state like ours is kinda cool too. Avdave
im guessing it was partly tied to the heavy precip tho that means it's starting at least Most likely. Precip is ever so light here now, I dont see any flakes mixing it in yet unless they are very small. Meh, it is what it is. Time to move on, thats all. Ian
that probably should have been the focus, because it is a very impressive and dynamic storm i think it's more the series of events.. a few lows riding up the front then a solid finish. looking back at a 500 map etc i would not think this was that impressive of an event -- or at least that atypical (something that doesnt happen in the general neck every year in some fashion). but it's certainly a memorable day.. at least till it snows.
