TalcottWx
Your non-local side definitely shows in these events - It's known as weenie radar around these parts for a reason. Honestly shocked to hear that. Its algorithm has been the best in the three places I've lived in the past five years. Thought it did well with the October storm here also. mappy
Wow 2 rumbles of thunder with the rain falling sideways here in Leesburg. Up to 1.06" rainfall since midnight That line of heavy rain looks real pretty on radar, enjoy!

Avdave
That line of heavy rain looks real pretty on radar, enjoy! I havent seen the radar yet, I just got home but the rain was whipping across the Greenway all the way home. Got home and then the thunder. I;ll take that as a bonus if we get no snow. nw baltimore wx
Honestly shocked to hear that. Its algorithm has been the best in the three places I've lived in the past five years. Thought it did well with the October storm here also. I think it does pretty well too but it can be deceptive in specifics. But in my original post, the implication was that the cold air is definitely intruding quickly towards iAD.

WVclimo
None of the models had the cold plunge here before 8 or 9 this evening. It should be reaching Loudon County in the next 30-45 minutes. Of course, that also means we're probably done everywhere except northeast by midnight.

TalcottWx
under Surprised to hear you think so. Feel like the r/s line slow its progress a bit as it makes it exit out of the higher elevations. The western part of Leesburg is pretty damn hilly though.

mappy
For whatever reason when I multi quote on the iPad it crashes, do forgive this rather dumb way of responding. Eskimo, then this event won't disappoint Kenny, I can think of at least one who would be all weenie if this was severe season Sobs, I haven't been able to follow too much the last two days due to a work conference, but for us, it's all about the cold. I'm afraid it won't get here fast enough and when it does the precip is already gone. If I wake up at 545 and there is a dusting, I'll be surprised. Dave, it does indeed look pretty. Thunderstorm and then snow? Lucky you

Bob Chill
Winchester went from 43 to 37 in the last hour. There's 45-50dbz return in between HGR and MRB. There's has to be some flash flooding going on out there.
