I don't understand why this wouldn't be the obs thread. The other thread seems like it should be just general obs when it is boring. These individual storm threads take a natural progression from modeling discussion to real-time forecasting/obs.

I like that too but I've been putting my last two obs (not that they're exciting) in the other thread. I'll start posting them here.

OK. Temp has gone down another half degree since my last post. 39.9. Don't know if this can last, but at this rate it's going to be freezing in an hour. I suppose reality is that it is dropping because of the heavy rain/gusts.

Agreed.

48.2 with steady fall. I was stuck at 54 for hours nearly all afternoon after being stuck at 57 all damn morning.

Huge slug of heavy windblown rain incoming for most areas. What a deluge today. I've had over 2.5 since this began. Good luck to filks in Leesburg and north. Take some pictures so we can all enjoy.

Ian must be commuting home, so we are mod-less. Therefore, I can make decrees with unbridled power and authority! ;)

49.5°. Temp slope changed at about 5:20pm to a faster decline.

this is an obs thread -- though in the future we really should not throw everything into one neverending thread but i think i say that every storm. ;)

I'm sorry if I am hamming it up, but this is really impressive. The wind is really blowing hard now, the rain is striping the house, and this temp drop is pretty fun. Down to 38.6.

Yeah. We are getting hammered right now. Should be snowing by 8 or so I think. Looks like once this heavy band moves through we are into the frozen stuff. Quite an impressive transition going on.
