BethesdaWX
GFS is pretty grotesque, congrats snowshoe if taken verbatim. Oct 29 storm was the same way with the NAM colder than the rest, GFS slightly warmer but closer to reality.

MN Transplant
Wow, 3.5" of precip for DCA. Too bad maybe like an hour of that is wet, barely-accumulating flakes.

Quasievil
berk is excited about the gfs for some reason Yeah I didn't understand his enthusiasm. Seems misplaced to me as the cold temps never really get here in time. 3.5" of liquid and only the very tail end of it MIGHT be snow? I'd say that's a #FAIL in my book. kurtstack
"HEAVY-HEAVY snow burst" I think he's going to have a lot of disappointed followers. Looks to me like the heavy burst is primarily rain for most, then some leftover light precip when the changeover finally does occur.

Yep. With above freezing surface temps it's going to take extremely heavy snow band to lay down some accumulation, and identifying that, even at this point, is almost equivalent to throwing darts. Scuddz
Meh, GFS still put out .2 Liquid equivalent QPF as snow at DCA. Could be good enough for a slushy coating
