JoMo
Yeah no kidding, nice timing lol. It isn't updating for me either. I'm sure it came up with a solution like the NAM, thought something was wrong, and decided to self-destruct.
baroclinic_instability
I'm sure it came up with a solution like the NAM, thought something was wrong, and decided to self-destruct. Thew new NAM just needs to self destruct as well. What a junky piece of guidance. I have been sorely disappointed with it since "update".

JoMo
Looks like the 12z GFS is not going to have much in the way of snow or precip at all.
Spot
LOL just seen that. All of this has got to giving forecasters headaches!

JoMo
Does anyone know what the Euro is showing? I cant get it to update for anything on WUNDER. Eh the 12z starts in 2ish hours, maybe it will be update then. Probably going to disappoint though.
okie333
Eh the 12z starts in 2ish hours, maybe it will be update then. Probably going to disappoint though. He meant the 00Z... I'm curious too, given that I've heard it's similar to the NAM...
Spot
Maybe it wont be. Ive seen the GFS "lose" the storm in this range before only to pick it back up later... If the Euro shows something close to the GFS then its time to start getting worried. <<end optimism>>
Spot
He meant the 00Z... I'm curious too, given that I've heard it's similar to the NAM... Is it really? Will the 12z follow the NAM? Will it go with the GFS? Or will have its own little idea? Wouldn't be to surprised to see it do its own little thing with all of this mess going on right now. JoMo
12z GGEM says the GFS is correct. http://www.weatherof...t/global_e.html Need the positive tiltedness to go away :-\
JoMo
Looks like Wunderground's Euro still isn't working. Based on the maps at PSU EWALL, I can't imagine it would show anything other than what the GGEM/GFS are showing tho.

okie333
Not really buying the idea of a harsh northern edge to the precip... yesterday's 18Z was the last sane NAM run IMO. Compare yesterday's 12Z to today's 18Z, noticing especially the northern edge in central MO: Note: I am NOT saying the past NAM runs are correct... I'm just saying that since and including last night's 00Z, the NAM has had a problem with compacting the precip too much. If there were a sharp temperature gradient at that location, I might be more apt to believe it, but the only such gradient at any pertinent time in the run is way southeast of that area. JoMo
You think the NAM may be clipping the NW precip shield a little short?
