ouamber
Yeah I woke up to 2 inches here in midtown Tulsa. It almost seems like the storm shifted the heavier snows back towards OKC. Overnite they took away the WSW, and downgraded back to a WWA???? That was a weird storm setup.

I think this storm was very hard for the national weather services to handle, to many ifs and whatnots with this storm lol. Im glad to see us all finally get a lil bit of something though ya know. Sometimes the offices seem to jump the gun to soon on warnings and such also, just my opinion of course
MoWeatherguy
Looks like about 2.25 here in Monett. That may be about it for the good snows today, unless we pick up a bit more when the main shortwave rotates thru later today. Looking pretty clear west of here right now. NwWhiteOut
1.5-2" here. I missed the snow because I was asleep though, lol Your not supposed to do that now! Thats what alarms are for lol. I did not want to miss this so yep roughly 3 hours or so of sleep for me but was worth it!!! All that tracking of the models and you miss the actual snowfall, whats wrong with you man lol J/K. Im up to 3.5" here. I really wasnt expecting this much so Im shocked and good to go. Tomorrow it will be all gone haha

NwWhiteOut
Eh, most of it fell in the dark anyway. Started right around 5:30ish or so here and was light/moderate snows. The heavier bands is what gave me the measureable stuff or I probly would have only wound up with an inch or so. Still coming down pretty good to but it dont look to last much longer on radar. Temps are trying to climb though up to 30.4 now, and that blazing sun is soooo trying to come through the cloud deck in breaks.
JoMo
It has already melted off all the roads, temp is 31. Without the constant precip, temps are going to go above freezing.

Yea I know thats what happened here a few times in the breaks, temps start shooting up as soon as it lets up
brettjrob
Somewhere around 1.5-2" here, and I was happy to see most of it fall before midnight, rather than keeping me up til dawn as last year's events did. Melting already well underway. NW TX to SW OK was definitely the place to be. Good for them -- they need the precip.
JoMo
Last batch of precip about to move in NW AR and SW MO.
Wx 24/7
NWS still insists freezing drizzle is coming. I don't see it, but maybe I am missing something. Looks like we got 2" according to my back deck. At least we finally got our snow we were wanting this winter.

MoWeatherguy
Looks like SC and E MO are gonna be the big winners out of this one. It's getting it's act together east of here. I've got a relative in Mtn Grove who just sent me a video of them measuring in their yard - 6". Doesn't appear to be a drift area, either.

FSMweather
Got about 3 inches here in Fort Smith. Some areas around I-40 got more. Looks like Eastern OK/Western AR finally beat NWA on the amounts this time. But of course we get snow when I don't want it,lol. Ready for this to melt and the thunderstorms Wednesday. JoMo
We can only hope I guess. Maybe thunderstorms. Already big changes at Day 7 when compared to the 12z. The Euro has been having big run to run changes. You gotta figure, one of these times, something is going to show a big fantasy storm, lol
JoMo
This is quite the run of the 00z GFS. A bit weaker SE Ridge or a slightly farther SE positioning of the trough out west and we are good to go with some big storms this run. Of course that will change in 6 hours. Wx 24/7
I saw that the official total from Monett was 3". Interesting... the best I could measure was 2". It looks like the storm system really cranked just east of us where 4-5" and even a few higher amounts fell. I am looking forward to the rain in the morning! andyhb
GFS would probably be showing a severe wx threat in the 138-144 hr period as well if it weren't for that system in the day 3-4 period dropping a front through the Gulf and eliminating the chance for reliable moisture advection. Yeah that little system has been getting farther and farther south. It was modeled around S MN/N IA last night on the Euro and GFS and this run GGEM/GFS/Euro models have it over Kansas. andyhb
CMC/Euro also have systems in the mid range, it looks like, although the Euro is much further north with its solution.
ouamber
The massive storm on Feb 25-27 looks to pretty much cover half of the US...crazy!!! It has been consistently shown on the GFS. Not to mention how cold the plain states could get....Winter is not over!
