NwWhiteOut
I think its normal by now amber for us to be emotional when it comes to winter time storms lol. We have all been disappointed one too many times before
wildweatherman179
Lol, I am sleep deprived this week!! I guess I'm still hoping, like the rest of us on here to get bombed on tomorrow:) Problem is, we've waited 3 years for this? Sleet Storm..ugh..I want my blizzards back!! I know I am being an emotional woman, but dang it, I got spoiled thinking GHD Blizzard would become the norm for us. WRONG Yeah, I feel like we all got a little robbed by the sleet storm here but I am holding out some hope for the next band. Pretty sure the 0 line has made it here finally. Just need a few good bands like the first round had.

wildweatherman179
May all our QPF be snow, may it be 0.4+, and may our ratios be 15:1. - The Weenies' Prayer And Dear Lord please produce half-dollar sized snowflakes for several hours. I want to build a snowman not a sleetman. Lol. Amen! :-) Also 20:1 ratio wouldn't be bad either. Lol
NwWhiteOut
Well a little updaTe again, the sleet earlier turned over to light snow and its been ongoing since. So darn cold out it dont take much for it to accumulate. Went out and took a measurement, just shy of 1.5" IMBY.
wildweatherman179
RAP still looking good for decent snow pickup in eastern OK western AR and SW Mo through as late as 6pm tomorrow. There is hope!! Lol
brettjrob
Nice band setting up across the south metro now. These are easily the best-looking rates I've seen visually since the winter of 2010-11. Thus, why I try not to get too emotionally invested in winter weather anymore. NwWhiteOut
Dry air eatin' my snow! Oh well, December is already much better than last year. I got my mood snow before Christmas. Yea man this is a nice start isnt it! I think this round 2 was an underperformer though booooo! They really knocked the totals back and have it ending alot earlier, maybe the dry air like you stated idk. I see the temps have really been bumped up for daytime highs also next week and saturday night looks to be bleh now also, snow was taken out of the forecast and replaced with freezing drizzle now. Snowing lightly here and got about 2" or so on the ground, is neat to see regardless!
ouamber
I am up early because my hubby still has to work for FedEx in this storm. It is beautiful outside. I'm sure my prediction for 6-8 will not hold up for Tulsa..but regardless, my job is closed today so I can enjoy this with my doggies:) Happy, Happy, Happy:)
JoMo
Snowing at a decent clip right now. May get 2-3" before it's all over.
ouamber
I think SE OK/Arkansas took the brunt of this storm. Getting reports that 1000s are without power and many power lines down in Hugo-extreme SE OK. I hate to hear that!

FSMweather
My city looks like a warzone because of the 1inch+ of ice. I've never heard so many many trees and branches snap in my life last night. I had to sleep with one eye open all night. My yard is a disaster with huge branches everywhere and it's snowing like crazy right now. It's really bad here.

NJ_Ken
The last couple of flakes are drifting down here in Oklahoma City. I ended up with something like 4" to 5" on the ground this morning on the north side of town where I live, and it looks like maybe a hair less than that downtown. Kudos to NWS OUN. They hit this forecast out of the park. They nailed the start and stop times for both "rounds" of precip... they called the snow/sleet/freezing rain lines almost perfectly... and even nailed the accumulations which, let's be honest, is almost impossible to do with a storm like this. JoMo
Looks like 3-5" around Tulsa when it's done. Probably going to get 1-2" here.... Pea Ridge, AR reported 11" still snowing.

Got about 4 on the ground and may end up with 2 more inches by the time its over. :-)
ArkieOkie
When I went to bed around 11 it still hadn't changed over here in Sequoyah county. Woke up to a pretty blanket of snow and it's still coming down. The flakes are big and gorgeous! We have quite a bit of ice on the trees. but it appears that we lucked out on ice amounts compared to the southern part of Fort Smith.
JoMo
I like early season events when everyone gets snow. It takes the worry that the winter is going to be snowless away. I mean the rest of winter could end up sucking, but hey.. we've already had snow, so that's ok.
ouamber
Tulsa NWS reporting 5 inches, and that's what I measured as well in my back yard.. We got underneath some crazy band and padded our total in the last hour:) Very pretty and fluffy
Wx 24/7
I measured 7" as of 10 a.m. Looks like we won't add too terribly much more to that here. Snow is starting to drift, making it harder to take accurate measurements. Next order of business... how low do we go in the snow and ice pack tonight?
